We have turned from a team that was a rest stop for the rest of the league, to a team that nobody wants to play, all in just one off-season.

Great job by Luke in installing the culture and an incredible job in team building by Magic and Pelinka.

12 of 20 gets us 40 wins and we have a home heavy schedule (including 13 games at Staples). I honestly think that's the number (40) that gets Luke COY.

What? You think only the top teams don't suck? Is there a cutoff for suckage? Clearly, it's gonna take time for it to become evident in the standings. This isn't about standings. It's about how they're playing and their trajectory going forward. You have to stop sucking BEFORE you start climbing up the ladder.

As a hardcore fan (which all of us at LG would be), How good does it feel to have a team that is fun to watch again after years of tanking and disappointment.

You can tell from Stu and James Worthy's tone, We're back

Hmmm... out of curiousity, has a coach that didn't get his team into the playoffs ever won COY?

I was so focused on us beating last years win total that I only just realized that by winning last night and getting to 28 wins on the year we have now won the most games in a season for the last FIVE seasons. We haven't won this many games since the '12-'13 season. That is absolutely crazy.

If we win 38 games this year, which is pretty achievable I think, then Luke will have won as many games this season as Byron did his entire time as Lakers coach.

Yup

Byron went 17-65 and 21-61 in his two seasons here. Those were bad times.

Let us flirt with a .500 record for a while before we seal the deal.

I just looked at our record and if the BI injury is not serious we could certainly go for 40 wins.

Never in my wildest dreams I expected such an exciting season. Kudos to the kids!

Yes, it is hard to believe.
But Magic and Pelinka have turned the Lakers around in one year.
And it was amazing considering all the handicaps.

And they have positioned for the Lakers to make a move in FA
in the coming years.

The Spurs have their system down and all the players know how to play it. They know their system better than we know our system. Plus, they are fighting for playoff positioning and need to win.

Good win for us because of all that. This team, as it is, will be in the playoffs next year for sure. I think we come in second place in our division. If we get the right two stars and manage to keep our core five. We will push the Warriors.

Mitch and Jim NEVER had us in such a good position.

Yeah, but it was good enough to hold off the Sixers from getting our pick so we can draft Ball and Ingram. Sometimes tanking helps. Also they knew we had no chance at beating GSW anytime soon so might as well tank.

Not only is this team growing and giving themselves if even a small chance at a playoff spot, that pick is getting higher and higher.

Ainge probably thought we were gonna suck worse than the Nets. That's why he gave the Nets pick to the Cavs

He gave up that pick for one of the best PGs in the NBA knowing if the Celtics didn't get our pick this year, they'd get the Kings (Top 1 protected) pick next year in addition to the Grizzlies' (top 8 protected), Clippers (top 14 protected) picks in addition to their own.

Hopefully, we can get our own superstar this summer to lift this team to the next level.

Since Kobe achilles injury I don't feel such a positive atmosphere around the Lakers.

We ARE back.

Best win of the season without our "untouchable" guy. Seems like Luke is the real deal. Never doubted him. Cant wait to see the added FA to this roster this offseason. This team actually plays Golden State tough every time, even last year. We're built to beat the best team in the league so that makes us the best team in the league. Championship in two years is not so farfetched.

Next year, we make WCF. The following year we win it all. Followed a repeat and a 3peat. Yep, thats how I see it.

Fun team. Still expect a massive personnel turnover this summer. Upgrades. We are close to convincing the top dog FAs to join.

That would be a huge mistake, most of the interviews last night mentioned continuity as the main reason for playing so well. Destroying that world be a bad idea.

For this season, yes. But we're not out of the woods yet. We could have another complete roster turnover next season with Randle, Lopez, KCP, and IT being free agents.

Yeah, winning those titles really sucked. You can’t revise the truth, you can just continue to look pathetic trying to do so.

Thanks Magic! Winners win, losers lose, so I'm not shocked at all by where we're at compared to the previous FO.

Cant wait until I can go back to being an obnoxious laker homer, I miss that so much. Being "realistic" sucks.

Byron was our version of The Process. He is the Popovic of Tank Comanders. Ryan Kelly as a starting Small Forward. Ronnie Price a starting Point. An offense that featured Jordan Hill mid-range. Good times
