Justice Winslow just shot up Nate Duncan's NBA player ranking list.

Take his time like what Lonzo did. I enjoyed the wins but I rather have them be healthy and take chances when it matters.

To be fair, Kobe was not human.

I get that Kobe went too far... but I've never been proven wrong in my mind when I guessed they'd come back later than expected.

I'm old school... I've worked years where I'd work 363 days and take off only Christmas and Thanksgiving. The only reason I post so much right now is because I'm taking care of my dad.

Kids these days seem to have less tolerance for adversity.

While the stuff of legends, Kobe's insanity was detrimental both to himself and sometimes to the team. How many times did we both marvel at him playing with broken fingers and then grimace when he'd have a terrible shooting night because of it?

Teams and players now realize that old school mentality doesn't do anyone any favors. Rushing back for inconsequential games can lead to recurring injuries, or long term damage. Playoffs? Sure, pull out the heroics. Regular season? Nah, rest the guy and let him heal properly.

These decisions are made with better training science, better rehab science, and better analytics than the old days of Vitti just slapping some tape on it and throwing a guy back out there. And I'm guessing that science all points in the direction of giving a guy a few extra weeks of recuperation probably leads to him more effective for a longer period of time in his career than rushing it and playing with a partially healed injury.

Re-watched the foul by Winslow. Not dirty but definitely reckless. He jumped right at Ingram's body at full speed knowing there would be a violent collision. It's the type of play that doesn't warrant a suspension but a note to file in terms of his history in the event there are future plays of a reckless nature.

The guy jumped into Ingram and put his knee right into him.. It was clearly dirty. How many times have any of you seen a defensive player put a knee into the offensive player while in the air? It's not a natural movement.. It is however natural for an offensive player to raise his knee for lift while going for a layup or dunk.

Doubtful, we aren’t dealing with Gary Vitti

Did someone mention Voodoo-Vitti?

I dont think the injury is anyone's fault and I don't know if Winslow's knee caused it more than just the landing and all that. Stuff like that just happens. Like I don't think Brandon is dirty but his elbows and knees have caught a bunch of guys this year.

Again.. my question is.. Is it natural for a defensive player to go into an offensive player with his knee? It isn't. Winslow was already in the air when he put his knee out. So he wasn't using it to generate lift.

I would guess 10+ days.

I'm going to guess more than a week as well, depends on what grade strain it is. He was already hurting a bit in the groin before Richard Head Winslow kneed him. Wonder if that was in the scrot.. I mean scouting report?

If he's cleared next week when he visits the doctor, probably will need 2-3 days of practice... so 10 days sounds about right.

I watched some of the Hawks game a 2nd time. Ingram was already favoring that area during that game. The Winslow incident may have just made the situation worse. Not sure if he commented on if there was any pre-existing pain there or not???

I mean we have amazing SF depth.

Um, Travis Wear? Kuz?

(bring Deng on please).

I don't know if the reason Deng hasn't been used has been uncovered yet, but it just amazes me that even when they are short handed, they wont use Deng...even with the salary he is pulling in. I wonder if he actually has something to do with it, because they gladly played Brewer.

He got that Jim Buss stank on him apparently.

Swallow the pride. Who cares if he's making 18m. We need bodies at SF right now.

Agree. Travis Wear played well at the 3 near the end of the SA game, but matchup wise long-term he's not gonna be able to handle that position. He's never really played a 3 before. They can't make Ennis like mistakes right now. Play Deng in short spurts to try to see if he's got his legs under him and is in game shape. Wear and Kuzma, natural 4s forced to play 3s, is danger zone.

Exactly how I see it.

It's not impossible Travis Wear could prove us wrong with some amazing defense vs opposing 3's, but that would mean we got ridiculously lucky.

It certainly helped Wear that he was matched up against Rudy Gay, who was coming off a torn Achilles tendon last season and a heel injury this season. A slower, older 3 playing more like a 4 suits Wear. If Harkless is still out, maybe the Lakers can get away with it at the 3 again, but it's still a very tall order to ask of Kuzma and Wear to be productive at an unfamiliar position. This time against younger, healthier 3s.

Was that what it was? I noticed him still grabbing in that area and walking gingerly on it probably somewhere around the 3rd quarter.

If he misses the two Denver games, it might be the final nail in the coffin.

I'll still hope for a miracle, but the timing is terrible.
