Might as well sign him for the rest of the year. Not sure who else is a better option. Shooting is valuable. I still miss Matt Thomas too.

My thoughts exactly. The Lakers will need some cheap contracts to fill out the roster if their off-season goes according to plan and Matt Thomas would pretty much be at the very top of my list (cheap contract-wise)

The run that Lakers summer league team had was pretty special imo.

Kinda weird to have your whole career hinge on another player getting hurt

The NBA is full of talent and some great talents get overlooked in the process.
But yeah it is unfortunate players dont get a chance until an injury or something happens.

Not sure yet about another slow footed guy with a suspect shot when considering Shabazz Mohammed is available who's 10x the player at the SF.

He’s shooting 41.9% on 7 attempts per game through 33 G League games this season. I’d say he can shoot and he’s defense looks good enough. He might be more effective next to Randle the Brook is.

If he can get his shot off consistently against NBA talent, then Travis would help space the floor when Randle's working down low.

Tonight's game against Portland will be a big test for him imo. I've no doubt Stotts has grabbed some film of Travis Wear by now, and the Blazers are likely to throw the kitchen sink at him. Kuz and IT too for that matter. If Travis holds his own on defense tonight and the Blazers fail to torch him, that'll be impressive. It's frosting if Wear hits 3's when the ball finds him.

I'm not convinced either way, whether he's NBA quality or if he just had one good game. Tonight is a real good chance for him to punch his NBA ticket but it isn't going to be easy.

That's why the G league is so important. We need to up the competition to "almost" NBA levels. The better wages, and 2-way contracts are a step towards keeping fringe or overlooked NBA talent from giving up or going oversees.

I'd like to see the G league be where players can go who don't really want the college education or experience. I'd like to see a 20 year old age limit to enter the NBA and 70% free throw shooting among the list of requirements to play in the NBA.

Sign him, he's really solid in our system.

Think he's already surpassed Ryan Kelly.

Poor defense early in the second half with zubac. Kinda disappointing after he showed such promise against the spurs on that end

He put forth a good effort in limited minutes; gave us what he had.
He can shoot and defends fairly well.

IMO he has earned his keep.

He's been decent. Deep bench guys should be able to shoot and that he can.

Mixed feelings, but he's not the reason we lost against Portland.

I don't think he's so good that we don't even give Deng a try. But I wouldn't drop him after 10 days either.

I like him.

Id be fine with keeping him around.

Maybe he can take a two way next year.

And hopefully bring Matt Thomas in as well.

I appreciate Wear...he gives effort and can shoot the ball. I am not saying he is a 9-10 man rotation guy for a good team, but I feel confident in saying he is better than at least a couple of guys in the league that have fully guaranteed contracts. Not sure many would argue that he does not have more value than Ennis on our own roster.....and a lot of NBA teams have a guy or two that does not provide the value Wear can offer.

He's been pretty solid from what I've seen these last 2 games. We should keep him. Cut Ennis when Hart and BI are back.

he's really bad

not as bad as Ennis though so anything that contributes to Ennis playing less, whether directly or indirectly, is a win in my book

yep. thats what i'm noticing. the guy is playing VERY good defense even on bad switches when he's on an island with elite perimeter guys.

the foul they called that was a clear block was bogus.
