That was not a good inbound pass at the end there.

I'm guessing Lonzo is a bust again.

Like any young player, he'll be inconsistent. It'll come.

Lonzo looked lazy as (bleep) this Portland game. Didn't put his hands up in defense. Barely moved around the floor on offense or defense.

Final play inbounded and barely came into the floor from out of bounds.

That kind of effort is inexcusable.

I'm glad for the threes but pretty much he contributed as much to this loss as anyone.

Twitter was mentioning him massaging his left knee.
Hope it's nothing.

With his style of play, he's going to be tweaking a lot of things.

Then that's on Luke. Don't leave injured players in the game to get eaten up by that Portland backcourt. Someone screwed up here.

First game since Lonzo's been back we saw Lonzo sorta floating out there most of the game. Might be nagging injury related, might just be him still getting used to the NBA schedule.

He had these games every now and then earlier in the season. Happens. Dude's gonna be an absolute beast with more offseason time to get his body right as Caron Butler said to GT.

--

I also think IT was very 'take it on myself to push things' today. That might be because Lonzo wasn't energetic himself today, or it might just be IT being overly aggressive. Chicken or the egg.

KCP, Thomas, Wear, Kuzma, Lopez should've been the lineup if Lonzo can't walk in the final play.

Not a great game at all. Too bad he never got the opportunity to have Luke let him close like last game. He makes the clutch 3 tonight and never gets it back.

Great job Luke, KCP and IT. Great job.

His worst game in a couple of months. He was not aggressive enough and didn’t attack the defense. Too much of the passive Lonzo from early this season.

IT player 30.
Kcp played 41.
Lonzo played 33.
You wanted the 33 Lonzo minutes to go to who?

I hold my breath whenever he's in the paint. He throws up some pretty wild stuff in the key. It's like he expects to get his shot blocked every time he shoots a layup. I'd like to see him develop a floater or something.

Happened against Portland too. He had two points in the first meeting with Portland. Also Dame killed us that game too.

and his floaters are so off. it's so weird for a 6'6 bouncy guy to be so bad in the paint

Lonzo on Lillard’s hot stretch from 3: “That’s on me.” Said he didn’t get a hand up in transition and let Lillard walk into one to get him going. Took ownership.

Rebounding is a team effort. Yea, most rebounds are awarded to individual players (except for team rebounds like ball going out of bounds), but Randle/Lopez/Kuzma/ZU/Ingram boxing their opponents out help Lonzo get his rebounds. So you have to look at it holistically. Just bc Lonzo is getting more rebounds than Kobe ever did doesn’t mean he’s the better rebounder etc

Kobe and Zo see the game so differently.

I feel like Kobe got on a basketball court and saw it like the matrix. He saw the court in grids, and millions of mathematical equations, and made decisions logically. He could manipulate things to make it the way he wanted it, like Neo. Through 6 games of the 2010 Finals the team that won the rebound battle won the game. He loads the rebound program for game 7 and, bam, 15 rebounds and Finals MVP. Rebounding wasn't really a focus for him, but when the data called for it, he could dominate with sheer will and determination.

Lonzo just plays with a feel for the game. He sees angles and his anticipation is just a step faster than everyone else's. He doesn't process the data the way Kobe did, it's just instinct. As soon as that ball's in the air he already knows how it's going to come off the rim. He sees it happening in slow motion. It's not something he has to try harder to do. Kobe's career high is 16 rebounds. Zo got that a few weeks into his career.

Which one is the better rebounder I think comes down to personal opinion. Kobe probably could've led the NBA in rebounds if that was his goal. His grit and tenacity was 2nd to none. But Lonzo's instincts are special and that makes certain aspects of the game easier for him. Just glad that they both rep the purple and gold.

This is actually pretty enlightening.

One of the best defending point guards at it already.

Deal with it.

Oh really?
I don't know much about his game.
Can you explain?
