The young and surging Lakers are pushing through adversity
Quote: | "They are growing up really quickly," Walton said. "We see it happening and are excited about it, but the fact that they just keep finding a way -- it takes a team that believes in each other to do what they have done, especially with the injuries, the trading, the buying out of Corey. That takes a veteran team that has been together for a long time to be able to deal with all that and keep going." |

Could we all even wrong about Luke? Has he improved? Why am I not mad at his line ups now? I need someone with real basketball knowledge to help me process all this. |

I still would like Luke to expand his coaching circle to include a veteran coach. Bill Bertka isn't around to help him when an unfamiliar situation arises. Last night was one of the better coached games he had in the fourth to finish the game. Great usage of timeouts and utilizing match-up situations to favor his younger, quicker team. |

By the way, do the Lakers have a shooting coach right now? |

Magic was talking about getting a shooting coach this upcoming summer. He wanted to get one last summer but Luke said we didn't need one. Magic says this summer we're getting one....whether Luke agrees or not. |

Nothing bad can come out of having a shooting coach to be honest.
Keefe focused on BI’s form over the summer and its a great improvment. |

Just wanted to make sure if they had one currently or not.
Because that was one of the reasons some here were angry at Luke.
The last 15 games the team is shooting great from 3 and shooting FTs better. Interested to see how the team ends up in their %s. |

Horrible decisions down the stretch. IT should have been taken out early 4th. Zu was playing soft as hell yet was left out for an extended time. Sat Randle for half the quarter taking out his rhythm. Sits our 7 foot rebounder when we needed him the most. Just bad coaching |

Randle was gassed. They mentioned on the Blazers feed he was too tired (hunched over under the basket) to even get in the huddle before Luke took him out. |

Tough to deal with with lack of depth.
Just pony up and pay Alex. He would have done better than Ennis. |

Luke during post game talking about final inbound pass just threw out a bunch of nonsense talk. He doesn't know what the (bleep) was happening. |

Leaves in IT for too damn long in the 4th.
Leaves out Randle for too damn long.
Takes out Brook for...IT...while IT is having a abysmal game and lose the rebounding battle in the process.
Has Lonzo inbound the ball...tries to draw up plays for KCP again. Because that always works right?
He cannot draw up plays if his life depended on it. Anti Dantoni in that regard. _________________ Darvin Scam: https://media.tenor.com/images/3c15249955860a4b16b59e8ae035fb75/tenor.gif |

Maybe the play was for Lonzo to get the ball back (no pun intended). Usually the inbounder is left open and there were plenty of time left. |

Knew this thread would be rocking tonight. As usual, he takes the blame when we lose but some will never give him credit for the wins. IT/Dame lost us the game, with some help from lackadaisical play and up and down energy from most of the team throughout (first game back home after a road trip, and a successful one at that, short-handed, it's not entirely surprising). Nothing much else to see here. |

Letting KCP go iso 2 plays in a row and not putting Randle in earlier in the 4th killed us. |

Except this is a Luke coached team. That has literally NEVER happaned in his coaching tenure here. Especially this season. Last year it was DLO inbounding and giving Lou Will/Young the shots, now it’s KCP...K...C....P. Every time. _________________ Darvin Scam: https://media.tenor.com/images/3c15249955860a4b16b59e8ae035fb75/tenor.gif |

Is that true? Luke actually said the Lakers didn't need one? Did he not see their numbers the last few seasons? Even more, a game predicated on making shots doesn't have someone dedicated to helping young players develop said shots? Yeah, that won't help. |

He gets deserved props during wins but also deserved flack during losses. And the mistakes in losses just so happen to be larger than the positives in wins.
Let's not forget it took a team meeting to get him to start playing our best player more than 18 minutes a game _________________ Kobe |

To be fair. Most teams don't have dedicated shooting coaches.
They have assistant coaches who work with the players.
I'd love anyone here to let us know of all the teams that have a dedicated shooting coach. |

How about stop playing Ennis, I'd rather have GP2 or that other PG Machado on the defenders playing instead of this soon to be out of the league scrub. Its unfortunate he gets playing time cause Brewer was waived out and Hart has an injury |

don't know why he's giving minutes to Ennis, who provides nothing.
And it appears Deng is there as a token presence on the bench |
