Nah, too bright of an idea for Luke’s small little head.

You mean the guy who almost turned it over inbounding it?

Are you really blaming Lonzo for those last possessions when no one worked to get open? He had no timeouts and no choice but to pass it to someone. Unless he wants to be a complete a-hole and just throw it off a blazer's face.

This team without Ingram? Sure. With Ingram, not so much. What's been nice (if there is anything nice) about Ingram being out is that its easy to see how much we miss him and the impact he brings. Never been more obvious these last two games.

He hit a game winning 3 at Philly already. Another big driving play vs DC early on, iirc. He can do it!

I think PG puts us over the top in a game like this.
actually a healthy IT puts us over the top. you can tell he's still not himself yet. he's getting there but not there yet. there were a good 5 occassions when he went into the paint and decided he didnt feel like dealing with the big boys contact and he decided to stop, pivot and pass out..some of those became turn overs. its not because he's short. its because he can't attack like he use to due to that injury..not yet. If he was boston IT. we would've won that game the exact same way the blazers won their game. IT would've went off at the end and either got to the line or scored. which means, we're already as good as the blazers are and thats with josh hart and BI hurt. think about that for a moment.

Now if you add in a PG13.we're better than them. if you add in an additional superstar. well then we become the #2 or #3 team in the nba.

and because for some reason we already give the warriors fits. we may have their number with 2 more star players. ya never know.

Ah, LG ...

On Thursday: "I think we're going to make the 8th spot." "Forget the free agent plan -- we have our young guys and IT, that's all we need." "Do you think we'll get able to afford IT?"

On Monday: "This is hopeless and everyone sucks." "We need a closer." "I can't wait until IT's contract runs out and he's done."

You mean how he shouldn’t have been inbounding the ball in the first place? And how nobody got open at all and had to throw one up?

Lopez should have been the one inbounding it. And btw, that sub to take Lopez out and go small ball at the end really hurt us in those two offensive rebounds we gave up at the end.

Yeah, thank god we don't have those type of people running our franchise. Couldn't stick to a plan to save our lives with all the bipolar emotions

^ Kind of unfair, though. We have IT aimlessly dribbling in circles. Subtract that then who knows.

Sadly, IT still thinks he's a go-to guy like he was in Boston. The guy is just not at that level these days. Probably never will be at that level ever again.

So, how big of a lead do we need with 2 minutes left to actually lead the rest of the way? 15? 20?

Randle, Ingram and Lonzo have all closed games for us, as has Isaiah Thomas.

It's a good problem to have.

I'd rather have 2-3 guys we could go to in a closing situation as opposed to depending solely on one.

IT is fine... he choked against Portland... he did blow a few plays at the end of this game, but overall his play was good tonight.

People who think he was terrible tonight probably watched while multitasking or got their information from hot takes on their Twitter/IG feeds.

He got us 6 assists in the fourth... got 9 assists to 2 turnovers and should have had easily 11 or 12 dimes if the team didn't miss some easy shots. Shot okay and probably ended up with a decent TS. But he does need to keep his composure at the end of games as he is supposed to be the vet and he's not stabilized us the last two outings.

Why do some of you insist on trashing someone who has usually been one of our leading scorers and has been a solid playmaker? You think Caruso can yet replace his skills? Why not try rooting him on and putting out some positive energy instead of saying how much he sucks every chance you get...

I went through the same thing with Lonzo and Ingram where people who clearly don't watch the game attentively just have knee jerk reactions that only tell a small part of the story. We all do this to a certain point, myself included but when your sole contribution to the forum is just saying one player sucks on repeat... do us all a favor and wait until you have something new to say before you post again. I don't care if you at least vary your description... oh, IT drove into the lane without a clear plan... oh, IT was loose with his handles... oh IT lost his man going under the screen...

This shows me at least you are watching the game... but that midget sucks over and over is like watching a school bully just calling a kid fat every day as he walks to school.

And if you don't like IT... that is your right of course... but why not at least point out something else good that you see with another player.

But those that say nothing all game... come in for three posts and say the same player is sh*t over and over... personally I find your posts a complete waste of everyone's time. It's a public forum... and I say my fair share of useless (bleep)... but at least I try not to say the same thing repeatedly.

Randle is our best option right now for closing games. Unfortunately we don't go to him often enough in the fourth. And in the orlando game he was apparently sick so didn't play in the fourth.

What we definitely should NOT do is go to KCP in the fourth. So far it's worked maybe one time and hurt us at least 10 times...

Lonzo will never be an ideal closer unless he becomes a much better free throw shooter. He also struggles to get his own shot, unless it’s a step back going left. He’s a guy that you can throw the ball to in a clutch situation if he’s open. He seems to have the confidence to take shots. But the kind of player you want to have the ball at the end of games is someone who has the ability to make something out of nothing if need be, because plays break down. Lonzo isn’t that guy.

At this point, BI is obviously the team’s closer. The ball would’ve been in his hands the last couple of games had he been there.

This team is like most hoops teams, we'll develop a closer.. when we get to close games Ingram, Randle are both candidates, Kuzma would love to be, but he has to first pay his "dues"..

The real issue is that we absolutely wouldn't ask that "who's our closer" question from 2000 - 2016....

It's more about running or diagraming plays down the stretch. If you mean the Lakers need an iso player to close, then sure, BI and Randle are developing that ability, but someone like PG or the like would suffice.
