The past 2 games clearly showed how they miss BI. Some godawful decision making in the last few minutes of both games.

we need Hart too; we are literally depleted. Caruso and Wear are G-Leaguers for a reason.

Yeah it’s going to be a struggle without Ingram and Hart. Don’t have enough depth with the upcoming matchups.

Spurs were just as depleted as the Lakers but it will be a challenge these next few games. Lakers need BI back ASAP.

Maybe this is some obscure footnote in the rules. if time is messed up and the inbounds ball doesn't touch anyone and it's a Wednesday, then jump ball.

This is your second great post!!

well, thanks. that's 2 out of 1835.

I'm sure those 2 back to back great posts weren't the only ones.

Call was horrible, but I don't give a (bleep) about that. What IS concerning is the chokejob against a piss poor team like Orlando. I hope Luke and the staff reams the team for almost choking that game away.

He missed a bunch in the beginning and he had a few late clock heaves toward the end.

One of the refs said, "That's the rule." Iono what rule that is because they correct clock and 24 sec clock malfunctions and 24 sec errors by the timekeepers. I would think they can reset errors to the game clock made by timekeepers, as well, lest they made some new rule I'm not aware of. Perhaps there's a loophole insofar as the video replay as a tool to fix things is concerned. Are they allowed to reset the GAME CLOCK with a video replay? Dunno about that one, which is why I hesitate to state whether they can even do it earlier in the game although it seems to me they have done that in the past.

Anyway, there are things that CAN'T be fixed with video review. Case in point, they called the ball off of Odom in a Finals game after a Smeltic slapped his arm. They could review to see if it went off of the Celtic, but they couldn't use the review to go back and correct the situation by calling the foul which they shoulda done originally. Ball went to Smelts even though it went off of Odom only because his arm got smacked. That could be similar to what we just saw. I'm trying my best with that point to even argue that there might actually be a reason they couldn't reset the clock.

Another thing is maybe they couldn't do reset it because the clock would have ticked down during the span of time that the mistake caused and that Zo already touched it. It would've been game over if the clock operator correctly started the clock when Zo caught it, which is just great since all the whiny Cs around the other 29 fanbases are bringing up 2002 as we speak.

If the refs F'd up, dunno if league offices could even force a replay'd 0.6 because they're already done with the season series. They forced a replay against us in 82/3 at SA because of an issue involving players invading the lane during a free throw attempt, but there WAS a stated discrepancy between the official rulebook and what's called the referee casebook on the matter that took place there. Lakers were down by 3 points with Nixon shooting 2 FTs and he hit the 1st one and intentionally faked the 2nd one, which caused players from both teams to pour into the paint while the ball was in his hands. The refs chose the official rule to resolve it, which was a jumpball at LA's FT line, which Kareem tapped to Magic who threw it to Norm who hit a deuce at the buzzer to tie. Lakers won in OT. The NBA didn't like the precedent set there, so they wiped off the OT and made them replay the final 2 secs from Nov 82 in April 83. Lakers lost that one and a full game at SA right afterward. Those replays are so rare that that instance was the last example of one until the most recent about 10-12 yrs ago. That one was Hawks/Heat and time was replayed because the record keeper had Shaq or someone with more fouls than he actually had, iirc.

I dunno if the NBA can even replay this one if the refs made a legit mistake unless they wanna do it off camera. That Spurs/Lakers gm was possible because LA had another game there 4 months later. The replay of the final 2 secs from 11/30/82 was done and then they played the regularly scheduled game from 4/13/83.

I refuse to believe that's the rule. There is no point to even call a jump ball because it is impossible for a half court jump ball with 0.6 on the clock to result in any kind of points unless one of the players loses his mind and gets a technical.

That would explain it. I was absolutely confused we didn't close with Randle out there. Hope he's OK.

There's sure to be some explanation from the League Office tomorrow. It's just too weird.

The last playoff run was filled with a lot of controversial endings too. It's entertainment, I don't think they need to explain that to the fans that have been watching for a long time. They like to give the fans what they want to see and since we watch, we are obviously ok with that.

27 points, 0 rebounds is quite possibly the strangest statline I have ever seen for a Center.

At least Roy Hibbert completely sucked when he was grabbing zero boards.

He had to jack up at least 4 that was with time running out after he caught fire.
