Lonzo on Lillard’s hot stretch from 3: “That’s on me.” Said he didn’t get a hand up in transition and let Lillard walk into one to get him going. Took ownership.

Play defense!

One of the best defending point guards at it already.

Deal with it.

Oh really?
I don't know much about his game.
Can you explain?

We know. You can start reading some pages in this thread and google as your guide though.

I'm a bit confused as to why a PG with so much skill and basketball intelligence is not better in the half court. Seems like only BI and IT can handle that role regularly at his point.

Zo needs to take it to the basket more; teams are playing him to pass. His passes are great but he needs to shoot more on drives to keep the defense honest. We need him to be more assertive.

I hope his knee is okay because he did look tentative at times.

First game since Lonzo's been back we saw Lonzo sorta floating out there most of the game. Might be nagging injury related, might just be him still getting used to the NBA schedule.

He had these games every now and then earlier in the season. Happens. Dude's gonna be an absolute beast with more offseason time to get his body right as Caron Butler said to GT.

I also think IT was very 'take it on myself to push things' today. That might be because Lonzo wasn't energetic himself today, or it might just be IT being overly aggressive. Chicken or the egg.

To me it was pretty obvious that the refs completely took him out of the game. 2 of his first 3 foul were absolute con jobs.

Happened against Portland too. He had two points in the first meeting with Portland. Also Dame killed us that game too.

I still recall he played damn good ball denial defense on Lillard up in Portland, gave up one shot towards the end of the third when his teammates didn't call out a back-pick, then sat to rest to start the fourth whereupon a combo of KCP's defense and the refs got Lillard into a groove.

I thought he was Ok on defense; not his best overall but like you said he was good on Lillard in the 3rd.

The offensive side was where he was passive. He needed to make Dame work more, especially when it felt like Dame played the entire game.

Lonzo is now shooting 34% from 3

All he needs to do now is figure out how to either finish inside or draw fouls and if he draws fouls shoot free throws with confidence.

He does this and he is an all nba player

I think people forget that lonzo was in foul trouble and couldn't play aggressive defense as he would like to.

Shouldn't have kept him from playing it the last five minutes when Dame went off. It's not like he was contributing much offensively so even if he fouled out we had nothing to lose.

This loss was mostly on IT's shooting but Zo really hurt us last night
(still love both players)

Nope, Zo didn't hurt us in the slightest. He was afraid to play real, actual D on Lillard for fear of the clown ass refs calling him for more touch fouls like earlier in the game. He has to work at not being taken out mentally by those chumps and keep being aggressive and letting Luke go after them.
Same exact thing happened up in portland and we could have won that one too if we had a "superstar" to match their "superstar" getting calls.
His late 3 to tie it up matching Dame's late 3 tells me he's up to the challenge.

And non-calls. Randle should have had about 20 FT attempts last night because their hogs couldn’t guard him.

He need to learn to control when to shoot 3s. It doesn't mean that if you can shoot that you have to take it. But besides that good game by Lonzo. Good D. Great effort. Keep it up.

The last 3 threes he shot was where the clock was running out so he had no other choice but Hail Mary. Had it not been for that he shoots 4/10 40% from 3

Yeah the last couple of shots was basically cleaning up IT's mess.

Lakers' Miles Simon on Lonzo Ball's shot: 'his confidence is soaring'

Quote:
“The thing with Lonzo, he’s put in the work and put in the time,” Simon told Lakers.com’s Joey Ramirez. “It was a little bit of an adjustment period in the first couple months of the season, making the three-point shots.
But now he’s so comfortable at the line, he’s coming early, he’s staying late, getting the extra reps in, and his confidence is soaring.
Once he got comfortable in the practice setting, seeing the shots go in, it’s translated to the game and obviously he’s been one of our best three-point shooters over the last couple months.” 14 hours ago – via Lonzo Wire
