I'm rereading Uncle Toms Cabin, Harriet Beecher Stowe. It flashed a remembrance of books I've reread. Another Country, Giovanni's Room, James Baldwin and To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee.
All three had socially significant meanings. Uncle Tom's Cabin, To Kill A Mockingbird, racial injustice, Giovanni's room, sexual orientation.
Have you ever reread a novel? Why.
To Kill A mocking Bird and Uncle Tom's Cabin caused me to mist. Giovanni's Room was so well written it made me understand how a man could honestly love another man with the same passion as a heterosexual couple. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I actually just picked up TKAMB, I havent read it since middle school or high school and I was never interested in reading back then so I didn't appreciate it.
East of Eden is also on my re-read list, it's just a great story with intriguing characters and I want to read it again while enjoying what happens without trying to "solve" then ending. |

Wow!!!, you hit the nail on the proverbial head. I hadn't thought of it like that but it's exactly how I feel. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

The Invisible Man by Ellison.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by HS Thompson.
Neuromancer by Gibson.
The Great Gatsby by Fitzgerald.
Many others but these are the ones that I'm very sure I've read at least 5 times each. _________________ Lakers. Built different. |

I re-read some boring book that I forgot to name for way back when I did the Academic Decathlon in High School. Other than that no. _________________ (bleep) Kawhi |

I’ve read LOTR many times. I often read books a second time. |

Do you get more enjoyment from the second read? I do. I'm more in tune with what the character is trying to establish. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I have re read almost every book I have liked. I don't see it any differently that rewatching a t.v. series or a movie. |

I re-read books I like.
Fahrenheit 451 was a novel I read in school, and then 10 or so years later. Thought it felt more real the second time around, which left me reflecting more than before I started reading it the 2nd go around. Go figure. |

Lord of the Rings and Dorian Gray are 2 books that come to mind immediately.
I'm sure there are others. Lord knows I've reread a ton of textbooks. But for fun. I'd probably prefer audio books nowadays. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”

Oddly enough, that's my preference also. It's easy on the eyes and I get a good feel of the characters personality from the readers voice inflections. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Books are meant to be re-read, specifically because your vocabulary and understanding increases (hopefully) as you age, so it's never quite the same experience. |

To Kill A Mockingbird when I was very young for a class assignment where we got to pick any book. Pissed about the Boo Radley reveal as a recluse instead of a ghost. Read again years later when the book was assigned as class reading. Pissed because of the racial injustice. So yeah, you're right. |

Yes, I have re-read books many times....especially ones I haven't read in a long time.
As a kid, I read "The Unabridged Sherlock Holmes" which has all the Sherlock Holmes stories in a big thick book.
I recently found the book and read a bit of it again and in a lot of ways (could be my age) it was like reading it for the first time.
So if it is a quality book, absolutely recommend it, you pick up new things. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Update, i just finished re-reading To Kill a Mockingbird. I think it's getting bumped up on my ranking list. I still don't know who my favorite character is because there's so many good ones. |

Not my favorite character but a fond remembrance, Boo Radley. He was the introduction to film of Robert Duvall. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I rarely re-read books, but the one I did (two times actually) is my favourite book - The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. |

I love to re-read books. Everytime you read it again you discover something different you haven't paid attention in the first time.
I've read some books like 8 or 9 times. |

I've read Catcher in the Rye several times, mostly when I was younger, but what a great book.
Also LOTR, I've read like 5 times. _________________ Not a legend |

I've re-read Asimov's robot series several times. The lonesome dove series. Game of thrones. A lot to be honest. Re-reading books is so much better than re-watching a series.
My favorite re-read and book in general? On The Road - Jack Keruoac |
