Not sure if it works but looking at salary

Atlanta: dang + 1st
LA: miles plumlee

We then stretch plumlee and if atlanta wants him back then they can resign him. His salary is 12.4m so stretch him would be 6.2m? That would be just enough i think to keep randle and sign LBJ and PG13 assuming 101m in salary cap?

Plumlee
$12,500,000 + $12,500,000 = $25,000,000

$25,000,000 / 5 = $5 million year

I came up at $103.9 million, then Lopez taking the Room Exception at $4.X million.

$5,000,000....... Plumlee ( stretch waived over 5 seasons)

$12,500,000......Julius Randle (1)

$7,461,960........Lonzo Ball (2)
$5,757,120........Brandon Ingram (3)
$1,689,840........Kyle Kuzma (4)
$1,655,160........Josh Hart (5)

$831,311...........Min Salary (6)
$831,311...........Min Salary (7)
$831,311...........Min Salary (8)
$831,311...........Min Salary (9)
$831,311...........Min Salary (10)

$30,300,000.......Paul George (11)
$35,350,000.......Lebron (12)

$0......................IT
$0......................Ivica Zubac
$0......................Thomas Bryant

If the Cleveland first is kept and a different first is packaged with Deng, then replacing a Minimum Salary with a 2018 first should increase the team salary roughly $1.2 million.

$103.9 million + $1.2 million = $105.1 million.

Atlanta probably doesn't want him back, but explain about the Hawks being able to resign him.

My opinion is that LJ goes to Houston this summer.

If this is in fact the case, lakers should sign PG to a max deal, then keep Deng for another year. Then they can sign Randle and wait until next summer when they can likely do a buyout and stretch so its not a big hit. I hated having to trade Dlo to dump Mozgov, but I have not been very impressed with Dlo's play of late so maybe they got away with one there.

Stretching Deng is the last thing we want to do. Ideally we can just ride out his contract until the final season, where we can reach a buyout agreement.

Thought that atlanta could sign him if we waive him. But that really is beside the point. Hmm ya i forgot the place holder for the rest of the roster. So u neec someone y can stretch and get something about $2m left. So working back u need someone that have about $6m/2y salary...or highly unlikely

So if Lakers is hellbend on signing lbj and pg13, then they need to shred deng salary entirely to keep randle. Only package i see doing that, unless some GM really fall inlove with someone late 1st, is hart + 1st..not sure i like

This could allow us to bring back Randle and sign two max players. At the same time, I would investigate what is going on with Leonard and see if we could get him in a deal that also has us unload Deng.

This seems like too much to give up. It depends on everything working out in Free Agency which I think the odds of getting 2 players is 30%. If things don’t work out with Free Agency in 2018 and we have to focus on 2019 we will have grossly overpaid to get rid of Deng who can have only 1 year stretched in 2019. From a trading perspective Deng is a lot easier to trade next year and might even be able to be included in a larger deal with younger assets.

Point is 2 first rounders seems like we are jumping the gun before we need to. I agree we need to figure out how to keep the young core, especially Ball, Ingram and Randle and add high quality free agents. I just think 2 first rounders is jumping the gun unnecessarily.
I hear you. Im just thinking what if we have an opportunity on draft day and then when free agency comes we dont have that opportunity any more? Like, for example, Chicago wants a particular player, like lets say Metu from USC. The 2019 free agency doesn't sound too promising either, with Leonard recently saying he wants to stay in San Antonio. I would love for Klay to sign but cant blame him for not wanting to leave his current situation and make more money to boot.

So you may be rite about that. Maybe we should see what happens with Lebron first, then at least we would keep our first round picks. since the 2019 free agency isn't too promisong anyway.

Eric, IF LeBron is thinking about join us, he’d only do it for a chance to win a ring right? If so, why would he want a good player like Randle get pushed out? Wouldn’t he want to join this team at a lower cost to be able to have a better team?

Not sure I like the idea of keeping Randle with LeBron. Don' see it as a great fit. Obviously, if we land LeBron and PG, I'd love to sign and trade Randle, but not sure we can do that cap wise. Go for Lebron, go for PG. If you land both bye bye Julius. If you only land PG or neither, resign Julius. If you only get LeBron, I'd like to sign and trade Julius for a SG.

I'd like to think one of the reasons LBJ wants to join the Lakers is the fact that Lonzo/BI/Hart/Kuz make less than Tristan Thompson combined.

And now it's a nice albatross.

Point being, 4 rotation players who are under age 25 who make less than 16m is a selling point. Maybe it's too young for him, but that's good bang for the buck.

You, sir, have an intelligent basketball mind. Randle would (offensively) regress tremendously having to share the floor with James ... which could, in turn, hurt his defense, especially after he gets a fat new contract.

Again, I love the dude, but unless he comes on a huge discount, Noel is just a better fit, both financially and from an on court basketball perspective as well.

Replacing Randle with Noel may hurt people’s feelings because their in the process of falling in love with him, but if people suspend their emotions and look at it from a financial standpoint and, like you suggested, from a chemistry standpoint with James and George in tow, Noel is by far the better fit if healthy.

And it is the opposite of Lebron’s entire career where he has shed youth for veteran buddies. In Miami and in Cleveland.

Who did he shed in Miami?

Pretty much everyone but Wade. That was how they were close to having enough cap space to sign Lebron and Bosh.

They shed worldbeater Michael Beasley.

On the Cavs he shed Wiggins for Love. Ok.

On the HEAT you can't provide a single name that he shed. Beasley?

So the implication is he's shedding Lonzo/BI/Kuz/Jules? Doubt it. If he's coming he's coming to play with them IMO.

I noticed Giannis has the same management as Luol Deng and Jordan Clarkson. (octagon) like Chuck Norris. We just made a deal that made Octagon happy with Clarkson being moved to the Cavs on a big playoff stage. Helping Octagon makes future negotiations for Giannis in a few years feasible.
Using Strategery we do whatever they want with Deng, that way we stay at the front of the line.

Roster of NBA talent
http://www.octagon.com/talent/basketball

Current Giannis contract
Giannis Antetokounmpo signed a 4 year / $100,000,000 contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, including $100,000,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $25,000,000. In 2017-18, Antetokounmpo will earn a base salary of $22,471,910, while carrying a cap hit of $22,471,910 and a dead cap value of $100,000,000.

you can spin that one way - that Clarkson's agent is grateful - or you can spin it that they felt the Lakers dic&ed their client around and dumped him instead of believing in him.

Latter more the sentiment I'm afraid

I guess the Octagon relationship is blown up then. We also screwed over Wesely Johnson.

not so black and white - teams and agencies can't have flat out blow relationships - many players, many opportunities, it's a years thing.

I do know the Lakers strained their relationship with Paul George's agent when they tried to trade Randle and traded Russell - but it's an organic thing and if LA steps up to pay Julius, that goes a long way in the agent trying to frame LA as a destination to his client

Since Agents make a percentage of what theirs make, they have a vested interest in their players going to the highest bidder.

LeBron can make more endorsement money if he lived in LA and was on the Lakers, plus he is doing/wants to do more tv/movie/entertainment stuff and being in LA will help with that too, meaning taking $2 or $3mil less per season to get PG & Randle signed will be money he can easily make up on the back side...
