Lakers picking up Derrick Williams doesn’t bode well for a Sunday return for BI. Sounds like he might be out for a couple of weeks.

maybe the rest of the season

If I'm not mistaken he gets re-evaluated somewhere around Monday, which does not bode well for a Sunday return.

I can understand a discussion that say Magic is going into 'play it safe' mode and doesn't think the season record matters as much as max health for BI going into his summer training regimen, so BI can come back a stud come late September. I really hope to see BI again this season, but I can understand that.

But on the injury front I'd hold off on feeling too down, based on what GT had to offer at the top of this page the vibe is it's not that bad. Late next week give or take a little unless re-evaluation goes bad.

Re-evaluation Monday, which means we'll likely know more by... oh... Thursday or so when Luke gets around to mentioning it.

Luke Walton said Brandon Ingram (groin strain) told him he’s feeling a bit better, but there’s been no discussion about when he’ll return. Ingram will be evaluated over the weekend and we’ll have a better idea how long he’ll be out.

We're missing BIs poise in closing minutes. Both tonight and against Portland (and Orlando even though we won).

Missing his ability and desire to attack the rim, his playmaking and his d in a big way.

We’d be 8-0 post-All Star w/ BI playing.

He's getting re-examined a day or two before I expected! I hope BI's a lot more than "a bit" better.

Im curious if everyone thinks BI ceiling is so high because he is built like KD

On the contrary, I think some people think lower of his ceiling because he's clearly not as good as KD, and nobody knows what that could look like. So far, there is no such thing as a perennial all-star who's "like Kevin Durant, but not quite as good as Kevin Durant, but is still really (bleep) good", and so people have a hard time visualizing it. The closest thing the league has to a "poor man's Kevin Durant" is Rudy Gay, so all the ceiling comparisons automatically snap to that now that he's clearly going to be better than Tayshaun Prince.

Remember that? It was Kevin Durant or Tayshaun Prince. He's clearly not Kevin Durant, so he must be Tayshaun Prince.

Player comps are dumb. I think you'd be hard pressed throughout history to find a single one that ever turned out to be accurate.

We are really missing BI and Hart. We would have beaten both the Nugs and Blazers with them. Bodes well for next year.

What would our record be on the season if Zo, BI, Hart, and Lopez never missed significant time?

Well, I agree that he is probably going to be the best player of this team. At this point, I think JR is playing best.

It's a toss up between BI and Julius for best player this season on the team. Slight edge to Julius because his defense has been more consistent.

Potential of KD offense and Kawahi D

Nah, maybe Kawhi on offense and KD on defense (which is still pretty damn good).

Ingram has more potential on D then Randle, Randle let a few good players go off when I saw him, particularly Embiid and a few others I don’t remember.... the effort is there with Randle though but I don’t think his man to man D is as good as Ingram’s.

Why are you even comparing them to begin with? They're both on our team.
