Didn't even go after rebounds tonight. Let bad shooting effect his energy.

Lonzo should play now that the game is over. Let him get some reps

We need a genius shooting coach for Lonzo. I'm not sure what the best course is, but he's never going to be consistent if he doesn't tweak his mechanics.

He got the hibbijibbies with the boss men and his idol in the building. Didn't exude his usual confidence, pace, and poise.

Can we trade him for a higher draft pick. He was such a waste of a pick.

You're probably right. His three ball has been super streaky since his Chino Hills days. I don't that see that changing unless he gets a great shooting coach to fix his mechanics.

Seems like he plays better on the road.
Wonder if the numbers say that

Nothing defines a rookie more than inconsistency. But every player is capable of having a bad game every now and then, even superstars. Kobe had a plethora of stinkers throughout his career. But I wouldn’t even say Lonzo played badly. He just didn’t play particularly well.

I think Lonzo psyches himself out for big games and situations. He's such an instinctive player at his best that overthinking situations affects him and his shot. He struggled in his first summer league game, struggled in his first NBA game and struggled even worse as the storyline became Lonzo is shooting historically bad.

Part of this might be to do with the fact he's 20 and mentally not sure whether he truly belongs in the league yet.

Well there's definitely a stark difference in the shooting numbers. I didn't bother to post the FT % because he shoots so few of them and both #'s are awful lol.

Home (23 games)
.320/.276, with a .403 TS %

Road (21 games)
.416/.385, with a .512 TS %

...imagine Doncic a lot like Lonzo Ball (who I’d argue has been a top 20-25 NBA player in the last 15 games he’s played)...

I tend to agree with this.

Other than a couple of hot shooting games, Lonzo does seem to struggle more at Staples.

never really appreciated "breaks" as an athletic trait before watching Lonzo be devoid of it..as well as leaping at high speeds

Hopefully. Either that, or we'll have to live with him being streaky as hell.

if you overhaul his form it'll take 2-3 years before it's solid ya know, the change would be a hard divergence.
He's had long stretches where he's the best 3pt shooting rookie in the league..20 games.. rookies need to study and learn their shot before they can avoid straying from it, and become consistent..as well as gain strength.

I never said overhaul his shot, maybe tweak it similarly to what happened with Kevin martin. I remember reading an article from Kevin Hart where he mentioned in his sophomore season he tweaked his shot to accommodate the nba game, and the rest is history, he became a sniper.

Lonzo on the drive passing up too many open layups for a pass makes him predictable.

lol dude... most rookies shoot poorly from 3. Buddy Hield shot 25% from 3 in his first 20 games.. then he also had a poor month late last season as well.
Devin Booker shot 29% from 3 in his last 32 games as a rookie, after starting the season hot. Jamal Murray had a 30 game stretch where he shot 25%.

ya'll need to go look at the precedent.
