11-5 to get to .500 that was my original and optimistic prediction and after that 9 game losing streak and losing Ball and Ingram for long stretches is INCREDIBLY IMPRESSIVE!!! LUKE WALTON GETS A TON OF CREDIT IMHO!!! _________________ Do you believe it now, Trinity? - Morpheous

First time in FOUR YEARS we get to 30 wins. LET'S GO LAKERS!!!!
Make that five.

Looking at the schedule here, A-Pac. 10-6/11-5 seems reasonable on its face if they were to maintain their recent play and upbeat/competitive attitudes without any remaining rough patches being as long-lived as they were early on in the season. This Cavs game has to be the breakout from that 1-2 shaky streak before it, for starters. Hopefully, that one cleared all the cobwebs and they kick some Nugget ass tomorrow.
Maybe they have a shot at 40/41. Problem is that it doesn't take much for this team to lose to anyone, whether good like POR, roughly equivalent like DEN, or inferior like ORL. Margin of error can be so damn slim for these kids, especially w/o BI/Hart. As recent games have shown, just one little dead spot in the final minutes could be the difference. That's especially the case because this team hasn't really luxuriated in luck all that often this year. The Orlando escape was a rarity -- they've lost how many close games just like that?
Anyway, there are a lot of venues in there that they've played like crap at already. Even at DET could wind up being a surprise loss, but I cringe at seeing NO/UTA/LAC/GS/MEM no matter HOW well the Lakers are playing or WHO is on those teams. We've got about 9 road venues in the West alone where we've pooped the bed at way too many times from the 1st quarter on over the last 5 years. At NO and at MEM again....if that ain't a couple of preordained losses already, I'm a monkey's uncle. Maybe we oughtta be happy enough if they manage to show up to those places awake. Forget the 40 wins for now, just have Luke pass out 18 oz Red Bulls to the lads before those games. IND, NO, MEM, and DET is as depressing a 4 game road trip as there is in the NBA. Talk about homesickness and boredom. India-NAP-olis, players call it. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL SEDALE TRIBUTE EDDIE DONX!

I think you're off on this part NPZ.
I'd say @NO will be a toss-up, and @ Memphis should be a win. These aren't the Grit N Grind Grizz, they are the ultra-tank Grizz.
And I'm guessing you've never been to New Orleans or Memphis if you think they're boring- far from it my friend. Lots of good times to be had in both.
I wonder if the groupie bootay is just as good at NO after you've lost there for the 27x in a row. I suspect when the Lakers appear more virile to them ladies, they will improve in overall quality and freakiness. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL SEDALE TRIBUTE EDDIE DONX!

For the first time in a long time, I am enjoying watching Lakers basketball once again. I enjoyed the Kobe farewell tour for other reasons, but it wasn't due to the basketball that was being played.
Credit to Luke, and the new front office for a great job in the last year.

I like the offensive pace. 21 straight 100s. That's a modern mini-miracle for this franchise. Last team to do more was 35 straight in 1988. That's the final 3 Magic-lead teams, the LakeShow, and the potent 2009 team that haven't done that. Should be mentioned more. Can you remember back to Mike Brown when they were scoring 85 points? That ball was painful to watch. Felt like 90s Knicks without the defense and winning. Remember Duh-Wight? Ugh. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL SEDALE TRIBUTE EDDIE DONX!

We're almost playing like a college team in that we're all about the system and there's a distinct lack of any individual agendas and even an established pecking order. Luke kind of just rides the hot hand on the night.
More than just the offensive pace, our defense is the difference this season. We're playing really hard nosed, effective defense in stretches and it's fantastic to see especially with our matador teams for the the last ??? how many years.

Maybe that’s a big part of the reason they’ve lost there so many times in a row.
