I'm surprised it took them this long to finish their "investigation." And I don't believe the Senate investigation will be much more valuable either, though the media really wants us to believe that there's some bipartisan spirit in that committee.

Even if the Dems take the House and reopen the investigation, I actually don't expect anything extraordinary from them either (I still want them to reopen it). They don't have the tools that someone like Mueller has. Mueller has the grand jury behind him, he has many highly trained investigators working for him, he has all the intelligence information gathered by intelligence agencies, etc.

They went one stop further - they disagreed with all the Intelligence Community conclusions that Putin interfered to help Trump.

They are fully complicit and should all be voted out in November.

they did this to try to shore up base support for midterm elections

remove this from him and he can start stumping vs leave it over his head like a rotting egg.. they chose treason instead..

funny how this was announced the day before the special election in PA

So apparently the Ruski-In-Chief fired Tillerson on Twitter this morning and replaced him with Pompeo.

Quote:
David Corn @DavidCornDC

Tillerson says Russia "clearly" involved in poisoning of former Russian spy in UK.

Trump fires Tillerson.

On one side, he was surely the worst Secretary of State since William Jennings Bryan. On the other, he was surely fired not for his failings but for his occasional lapses into principle

And to further clarify -- Tillerson was not told he was being fired. He read it on Twitter with everyone else.

So as Trump prepares to meet (theoretically) with North Korea, he has no Secretary of State (need Senate confirmation first) and no Ambassador to South Korea.

This entire presidency/administration is one big (bleep) show. Anyone who ran a major corporation like this would be fired by the board. This is why all of his businesses went bankrupt. It's all chaos, all the time.

Putin backchannel

Fire Tillerson or else

I hope Trump gets solitary confinement for the rest of his natural born life

Death penalty preferable even though im mostly against it. He doesn't deserve life after all he has done to this country.

Gina Haspel has been named new CIA chief (subject to senate confirmation).

Quote:
Jennifer Epstein @jeneps

From last year: New C.I.A. Deputy Director, Gina Haspel, Had Leading Role in Torture

NYT: New C.I.A. Deputy Director, Gina Haspel, Had Leading Role in Torture

Former CIA director Brennan says (despite Bush's torture program), Haspel is experienced and has the necessary expertise to run the CIA. She's not a Trump yes-person and has the confidence of the rank and file CIA.

Note: It's kind of sad as a citizen to be "relieved" that the new appointee is actually "qualified" for the position they are being appointed to. Because that's the exception rather than the rule in this administration.

Reporters were shouting out questions to Trump after Tillerson firing:

Quote:
MSNBC @MSNBC

Trump says he will speak with British PM Theresa May, who has accused Russia of poisoning an ex-spy in London:

"As soon as we get the facts straight, if we agree with them, we will condemn Russia or whoever it may be."

"We don't know who did the hacking. Could be Russia, could be China, could be a 400 lb guy in his bed somewhere."

Trump gonna find out that as strong as his cultish white supremacist supporters is, the anti-Trump forces is more. The PA special election today will prove it

Why do I get the feeling they are gearing up to steal (you think those Russian penetrations of the voting systems were just because?) or maybe even have a big war and suspend elections?

Trump is attempting to fill his staff with Pinocchio's. Will Pompeo become one? His views on N Korea are similar to Trumps, hawkish.

How long before Donald tries to dismantle the 22nd amendment?

With no other superpower to check him, with his toadie in the White House, with the US state dept. gutted, Putin is now free to assassinate all his enemies around the world with no fear of punishment. This is ridiculous.

Russian businessman (and Putin Critic) and close associate of Boris Berezovsky found dead in Britain, lawyer says

This is a "new one."

BTW, Trump's personal assistant, John McEntee, is also out. He was escorted out of the White House yesterday, due to security concerns.

Trump's personal aide Johnny McEntee was fired because he is currently under investigation by the Department of Homeland Security for serious financial crimes, a source familiar with his firing tells CNN’s @kaitlancollins.

Too crooked to work at White House but perfect for Trump's re-election team.

Also, if "currently under investigation" for "serious financial crimes" was the criteria, most of Trump's staff and administration would have to be escorted out of their jobs, including Trump, Kushner, Uday, Qusay and Ivanka. But whatever.

BTW, Trump has done only ONE solo presidential press conference since taking office. Weren't there like 50 bazillion stories in the press whenever Obama went a couple of months without a press conference?

Trump's personal assistant fired, escorted from White House — joins Trump campaign

This source says the charges are not Trump related.

Rex Tillerson's top aide, Steve Goldstein, was also fired this morning for "contradicting" the White House timeline of Tillerson's ouster, officials confirm.

Vindictive bastards. Trump people were trying to say Tillerson was notified and Tillerson aide told the media the truth. So they fired him.

He was either fired on Friday or this morning. I think the White House wants us to believe it was Friday, so they might have fed that to the press. That would contradict the narrative that he was fired because he attacked Russia yesterday and only found out about it on twitter. But even if we assume he was indeed fired on Friday, that would mean that he was free to say what he really thought about Russia's role in the UK, knowing he was gone from the job.

Whatever the timeline, the White House doesn't look good in this.

Lie, lies, lies. This administration lies on a daily basis. Trump is probably looking very vulnerable to foreign leaders. They won't believe anything he says concerning policy. Kim is probably licking his chops.
