Can’t wait until the shooting coach comes and fixes his broke ass shot

if you overhaul his form it'll take 2-3 years before it's solid ya know, the change would be a hard divergence.
He's had long stretches where he's the best 3pt shooting rookie in the league..20 games.. rookies need to study and learn their shot before they can avoid straying from it, and become consistent..as well as gain strength.

I rather consistency than streakiness....

lol dude... most rookies shoot poorly from 3. Buddy Hield shot 25% from 3 in his first 20 games.. then he also had a poor month late last season as well.
Devin Booker shot 29% from 3 in his last 32 games as a rookie, after starting the season hot. Jamal Murray had a 30 game stretch where he shot 25%.

ya'll need to go look at the precedent.

His shot is def broke, he needs to spend the whole summer shooting free throws and lifting weights

Inability to draw fouls and make FTs when he does draw them is the most infuriating thing about Zo imo.

Nevermind the 3 ball. What is going on with all the bad exchanges with JR tonight. He needs to work on the drives to the basket, which could be a lot more consistent than the 3.

His shot was off tonight but he contributed big in other areas.

9 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks.

Zo was absolutely awful shooting/scoring the ball but his overall positive impact on the game was incremental to this win. Good defensive players make it hard for the offense to score. Great defenders like Lonzo make plays on defense. His streaky shooting is hiding the fact that Lonzo is potentially a generational defensive player at the guard spot.

I am only worried that Lonzo can't make a layup.

Doesn't take people long to completely disregard how he was shooting until the last 3 games...

Does anyone know if he is still on back to back game restrictions?

His offensive game has to get better next year, thought I don't know if he'll ever be a great scorer.

He did have 9 rebounds and 8 assists. 3 steals and 2 blocks. He's very good defensively.

Jason Kidd comp is apt.

Needs to at least shoot 80% from the line and be able to finish at the rim.

He'll be a better shooter, no doubts about it. He will rank ahead of Kidd when it's all said and done.

Horrible shooting and he still impacted the game and stuffed the stat sheet and had a +18. All he has to be is an average shooter and he will be an all-star. I still think the bad shooting is mental. He had a streak where he was one of the better shooters in the league and yet one bad shooting game sends him into a funk. He might benefit from a sports psychologist.

Yup. I always thought it was strange when people here would get all offended at that comparison.

His offense has struggled, but I think he's contributed sufficiently during last two wins.

Mike Trudell
@LakersReporter
Luke Walton pointed out that Lonzo was a game-best +18 on a night he struggled to hit shots (2 for 11). Ball had 9 boards, 8 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks.

Hack-a-Lonzo looks like it could be a legitimate tactic for the time being. He doesn't look confident at the line at all. We know he's a much better free throw shooter than he's shown. He was decent in high school, below average but not terrible in college. He'll figure it out, but until he can get past the mental issues he's going to struggle there. I think he's thinking about it when he's at the line.

Just goes to show box score reading tells only part of the story.

Yes, that is why I don’t worry about his shooting

Lakers will surround Ball with talented scorers. But the all around floor game is legit. I thought he had a big impact today despite shooting like crap. Again, will improve.

His dad did him no favors, but he's 20, plenty of time for growth

That's the scary thing -- it's clear this team is better with Ball on the floor. Dude is leaps and bounds better defensively than he was projected to be. He just has this knack for knowing when to blindside somebody or reading a pass.

This is his rookie year. He's only going to get better.
