Needs to be able to find other ways to score when the three isnt falling. Too heavily reliant on the three ball right now and outting too much pressure on himself on his three ball.. Steph can go 1 for 8 from 3 sometimes but he gets to the hoop and to the line so he can see the ball go in then the three falls.

His dad did him no favors, but he's 20, plenty of time for growth

Agreed. Lavar pretty much raised him to be a beta so that he'd never challenge him. Looking forward to Zo becoming his own man. Maybe fatherhood can be the catalyst.

Heíll need to figure out how to score at this level, especially with the ball in his hands. The nuggets defense were playing him to pass all game long which led to some turnovers other than that heís been great

Zo's athleticism is so much more visible on defense. He's a bit stiff and awkward with the ball in his hands.

So much to like about about Zo's overall game, but he has to become more confident near the basket. He's putting teammates in bad positions by not taking shots that he should. He can't continue to be this passive in the paint.

Ya a lot of that comes from the high center of gravity. He sure moves like a SG.. he is 6'6

I swear he had atleast two possible dunks tonight but decided to force a bad pass instead. He needs to be more aggressive when attacking the hoop. Given what we've seen, he has good reason to fear his shots will be blocked, but that isn't doing the Lakers any favors.

If i was to guess i would say most of his issues come from lack of confidence. He can play the game on both ends. He needs to get out of his own way. I think he will.

I still believe we have a star in the sense that he can impact the game in so many ways

He doesn't take it hard to the rim because he doesn't like contact and doesn't want to go to the line. That kind of stuff is holding him back a lot. Hopefully one day he gets over it.

Nothing that an offseason with workouts getting stronger and putting on more weight canít fix.

The kid is literally ELITE on every single level besides shooting and free throw shooting. Even shooting wooes, he leads the team in +/- because the team knows he does so much of every other facet of the game that without him, we would be in deep (bleep).

His constant hustle, energy and defense on both ends is amazing. I expect him to have an offseason full of working out, and working with some Lakers trainers on free throw shooting.

I donít see it the same way as a lot of you guys. Imo Lonzo is just a PASS FIRST point guard. Meaning scoring is an afterthought for him and itís going to have its own issues. The same as a shoot first player missing open players and forcing up bad shots . Lonzo is gonna pass up open looks to force the ball to teammates that may not be open. Itís a mentality that will only be fixed by constantly reading and reacting rather than doing what comes naturally. Itís something that will be fixed with experience and film imo

He will learn that scoring the ball will open up his oassing game. Itís similar to Ingram driving to open up his jumper, or Randle shooting to open up his drive. Once you get scouted itís important to work on your weakness (or percieved weakness in Ingramís case) in order to play your game.

Ps I understand that Randle is still driving non stop and not shooting yet, but thatís more because of personel and coaching than anything heís doing. Heís always surrounded by shooters so it opens up his game because he canít be guarded 1v1.

Maybe he doesn't like going to the line because he shoots worse than Shaq there.....

I couldn't believe it when I saw it. 48% on the season what the heck

Lonzo is probably the weirdest NBA player I have ever seen....he is so unpredictable and streaky, usually this type of players will not survive in NBA...but well...it seems he can do everything well except scoring. His shooting has been bad for like 80% of the season...he did had some good games after ASW, it seems he has regress back to the normal recently.

In the long run, he has to do two things:

(1). He has to be more aggressive in attacking the basket, an offensive set should be drawn to facilitate him going into the paint, probably running a pick and roll or something. Only by doing so can he be a consistent threat to the opposite team. Most of the time he just walk around the three point line watching the game.

(2). He has to fix his free throws. There is no excuses for a guard that plays in the NBA shoot worse than Shaq....this is just humiliating.

I am not so worry about his three pointers, afterall people said he has been hitting them in college theres no reason he can't now...so I will give him a season or two and we'll he what hes made of.

Lakers need to give Lonzo an ultimatum; either he takes the
off season to actually learn how to shot or they just can't have
him closing games. Every team in the league will start the Hack-a-Lonzo
given his low probablity to hit a FT.

The kid has talent but he will need to round off his game or it will
cost the Lakers in the long run.

The alternative is to keep have a really good back up that can close
the games, which is kind of ridiculous.

He's a 20 year old rookie.

Let's have a look at DeAndre's FT% since 2014-15.

39.7%
43.0%
48.2%
61.4%

Lonzo will be fine. Chill Winstahhhhn.

Lakers are thinking championship in the coming years. You can't
have a guard on the floor that's that vulnerable... teams sit C's that
can't shoot at the end of games. So, sit Lonzo?

He needs to change hits mechanics, improve his
shoot sooner than later, so it actually becomes a habit...

I don't think Lonzo is ever going to be a decent scorer. He should be able to hit the 3 at a decent rate ever season and to me that's perfectly fine. Besides scoring all facets of his game are above average and he's just a rookie. I think he's the perfect PG for us.

He was an 80% free throw shooter in high school. 67% at UCLA. But only 47% this season.

He probably is thinking about it when he's on the line and it's not allowing him to focus. Giving him an ultimatum likely only makes that worse. He likely shoots them well at practice.

You're probably right. My point with him is that he needs to settle down
and make those FT's. He's is and should be one of our best players in the future, that's a big responsibility. However, he needs to work hard in the
off season, forget distractions, and make it happen.

We should be pretty happy with the other parts of his game but it needs
to all come together next season.
