It feels like the Lakers have finally figured out how to best use Lopez. And he's responded.

Brook's been averaging 15 points on 61% TS% since IT joined the Lakers

He still can't rebound but put him in a competent half court offense and he's still a highly advanced scorer. I feel bad for him in that he got himself in the worst possible situation in a contract year where he was a sloth in a team of greyhounds, but IT's addition seems to have revitalised him.

That high bank shot is almost automatic when he shoots it.

How much is the MLE? Am I correct that it is approximately $8.8M for a non-tax payer, and approximately $5.4M for a tax payer?

Not sure that $5.4M would be enough to keep BroLo, but I certainly expect $8.8M would be. The question is would we be tax payers at the time if we signed two max FAs and then resigned Randle?

In any event, he looks to be really loving this team (which compared to his last team, is no surprise).

I can see him definitely taking 8.8 mil if that's correct amount of MLE. Why?

He earned so far in his career 95 mil $
He is Laker fan
Don't think that someone will offer him more than that
To play in competitive team next year
He loves the team you can see that easily
L.A
etc.

Room exception is the only available mechanism if we get 2 max FAs, keep Jules.

Brook could play on a 1 year deal (in the 4m range), and we'd still have his Bird rights in 2019. We could take care of him then. Of course it would require tremendous trust but I get the sense Brook loves being here. He would have asked for a buyout IMO if he thought he had no future here.

We have a history of not screwing players (and taking care of them). This could play dividends with Brook. I could see the trust on each side in getting done what Yinoma has presented.

The fact Brook didn't ask for a buyout (and a guy like Brewer did, b/c he has no future with the Lakers) means a lot.

Dude, Kuzma, Randle and Zo had 35 rebounds combined. I don't think we have rebounding issues.

If they can then they'd be foolish not to. Yes he has flaws, primarily in his rebounding. But he's still one of the games best post players, a decent shot blocker, and a reasonable stretch big.

We gotta keep these laker fans on our team! Randle, Lopez and Thomas all born laker fans.

Can't imagine that he's signing for the room-exception. I mean it's not that he's 35 years old. He's 29 and he was a franchise player for the Nets.

surely, his value dipped some this season. But not to 3-5 mill

But I would love to get him back

Brook's post game is hilarious. It's (bleep) slower than molasses, but it also is effective (I think, haven't looked at the #s).

I'd love to bring him back for cheap.

When he does one of his slow motion drives from 15'+ it's funny, but remarkably effective. Those off balance jumpers he does from mid-range as well. He just has a really soft touch.

I watched him make a drop step post move on Jokic last night that lasted roughly 4 minutes. It went in though so hey.

I can see him being here next year on something reasonable. He could find himself in an awesome situation as a pro if we land some big fish and keep the youth.

The only reason it works is because you have to respect his 3 point shot. If he had no outside shot he would never ever get a lane. But he does, so it works sometimes! Imagine if/or when Randle has an outside shot-

This is the Brook i was touting/hoping for when we traded for him. Took some time but now that Jules/Brook synergy is awesome. They really work well together.

Brook is doing a great job of figuring out how to fit in with this team. He has been a big part of our success.
