He is out for how long?

This is such a bad news. He was great recently. One of my favorite Lakers this season. Hope he is not out too long. And its not his shooting hand which is great. Come back soon Mr. Hart.

Maybe to give finally chance to Deng to earn his salary.

He's probably going to be out for a month.

Sign Tony Allen to a 10 day contract. He can defend and can play SF and Guard. If not take Wear.

Glad we have Caruso and a deep G league bench.

This really sucks. We loose a good shooter and a good defender at the same time. Hes such a great asset. Tony Allen could only dream of shooting like Hart and Mike Dunleavy Jr. could only dream of being able to defend like him.

Josh Hart is going to have surgery tomorrow on his broken left hand. He’ll be re-evaluated every couple weeks and “zero rush” to play him, Luke Walton says.

Sounds like he's probably done for the season.

Definitely will miss seeing Hart play with this team. He's quickly become part of it's identity. Been really impressed with how well he transitions the team from defense to offense when he gets the board. As much as Laker fans have grown to love him, he may even be way underrated.

Nance came back in about 3 weeks with a similar hand injury so give or take a similar layoff Hart could return by end of the month.

It's being reported that he had successful surgery today and will be out 4-6 weeks.

Damn, that's hard for us, but long-term perspective - hoping on a flawless heal and a long-long Laker career.

Hoping for the bolded most of all; but I'd sure love it if it could be on the 4 week end of that range and not 6 weeks.

Yeah Hart was a pretty key piece of our depth at backup 2 and 3 positions, and a reason we had a very good bench that didn't fall off when our starters sat. What's really bad is having BI and Hart out at the same time. The way he hits clutch 3's and changes possessions in closing seconds of close games, no way Miami would have slithered out of Staples with a win last night if Hart were there, even with BI sidelined.

The silver lining; at least it's an off hand, not a load bearing joint like a knee or lower back, and it's a bone which can fuse back together not a ligament or tendon where it's never quite the same. Definitely want it to heal properly and be fused well before going back on the court, but once it's healed, Hart's going to be good as new.

Luke said his hand is still pretty fat a couple days ago, I suppose that's a pretty good sign he needs more time.
