He does some nice things but he is just one of those players that pisses you off all the time. I doubt he comes back unless we miss out LBJ/PG. Maybe 1 year deal again. I don't see a big market for him either. Hart does everything better than him at this point and cheaper.

obviously hes not 18mil a yr guy but i like him. His defense is really good and he can make shots. Most guys are streaky/and make dumb decisions. We have greatly improved defensively.
zo
KCP
PG (fingers crossed)
BI
JR
would be elite defensively.

Him and Brook having been impressive late for sure. They’ve finally figured out how to best contribute to the team

Might be, not a great last play but he was the main reason we were in today's game.

KCP shot the lights out w/ 28 pts (8-11 from deep).

Forget IT! KCP is the one who should be re-signed. He's young, can shoot and plays D!

You need a bench. If Lebron comes also, maybe he will take less in order to keep KCP, who is signed to his Clutch Sports agency.

yes today's game, but he hasn't been a world beater all season. he's very inconsistent, takes some horrible shots in many games, and if we're signing him, if means we whiffed on PG13.

I would sign both they don't play the same position. Having both at the three point line would be sick.

Ball KCP BI PG13 Randle
or
Ball KCP BI PG13 LBJ

with Hart (actually if Ball doesn't shoot better I would start Hart) Frye, Ring Chasers and Kuz of the bench

Ingram would still be in the closing lineup. It wouldn’t be a career move and our defense would be so much better.

VLF likes to play players at their natural position and having BI off the bench would gives us all kinds of options.

I on the other hand have no probably playing small ball and think having BI and PG at the forward positions gives our team crazy wingspan.

You seem to want to go the opposite way of small ball and make PG13 play SG which I'm not a fan of.

either way every team needs a bench and not everyone can start

KCP's second half of the year is what I expected going into the year. The dude is starting to grow on me. The first half of the year, he was giving me the Lonzo heebie jeebies when he'd shoot and the D Fish jitters when he'd go for a layup, but lately, dude is solid and I feel Hart confident when he shoots.

I doubt he'll be back - wish we had 2nd half KCP all year, but I'll be rooting for him next year as long as he isn't playing against us.

That’s a good way to put it. even if Paul George doesn’t sign with us, it’s not a guarantee that KCP will be a fall back option, there is many scorers we can go after if PG doesn’t sign here... and one of the names that we might pursue if we can’t get PG is Jabari Parker.

I remember us being an all-PF team. So now we are on track to become an all-SF team?

KCP is a nice player and big part of the growth of the Lakers this season, but he is also overpaid.
IMHO KCP is going to be a plan B behind getting PG. And then maybe IT will be plan C. But only one of those three will make the team. No need to create a logjam of digruntled almost-all-stars fighting with each other for a playing time. Better go for a balanced roster straight away.

If the Lakers clear enough cap to sign Lebron and PG13 and resign Randle they can still use the mid level exception to sign KCP and that is about where is value is.

Now the question is do they us that mid level exception on him or a center.

I don't know. Looking at the UFA market for guards, KCP's will be one of the better ones available and he's a true 3&D guys and whose also shown he can rebound. He's also one of the younger veteran FAs at 25 so there's still room for growth.

If he continues his strong play to finish the season, I predict his value will be between the non-taxpayer MLE and his current salary. If any player made good on a 1-year make-good contract, KCP certainly has.
