Tweaked my back and neck this weekend so I’m on the IR for this one. Good to see Lonzo scoring in this one. Kuzma and Randle with strong ones. All three of them with double-doubles. Couple really nice drives by Julius, combining the speed, power and handles. Lonzo was able to get into the midrange and not settle for threes exclusively. Kuzma needed to be a little more selective in shots. Overall team faded in the second half.

Did not see game, came to page to hear your thoughts. I’ve relied on them living up here in Idaho. From this am reminded how grateful I am for your comments. Please get well.

At times our defense looks great and at times it looks laughably bad

I can't explain why. But maybe that's a good thing, because if I could then there'd be no excuse for why the coaching staff hasn't fixed it

Three Lakers with double-double. + Lonzo almost triple with 8 rebounds.
Lopez with 9 assists passing well out of double teams.
Zubac got some of his mojo back scoring 7 in 8 minutes with 4 boards while still being largely ignored in offence.
Too many turnovers for Randle. I think Randle vs Griffin battle was more or less even, perhaps somewhat to the favour of Randle.
Offensive rebounding was not there tonight. Pistons got 100 shots up while Lakers only 85.

I guess that you are out for the rest of the season! You deserve a day off every now and then. Get well.

DB - Get Well!!

Will you be going with IT to have a second opinion on your back in NYC!!!

When you replace IT with Ennis (17 minutes) and Wear is getting 17 minutes of PT, they ran out of gas!

Noting how the Warriors are doing without their stars, this shouldn't be surprising

Channing to some PT, but Bryant didn't any serious run. Hopefully he will get more PT, besides garbage time, to be on the court.

With BI, Hart and IT out for several more games - a bench of Wear, Bryant, Ennis and Zuback are the bench players that would be having problems in the G League, if playing together.

My Oh My!!!
(shades of Dick Enberg!)

Randle won his matchup against Griffin and got his stats, but I thought he had a pretty bad game overall. His D was weak too often, and those turnovers were killer. Still, it’s a good statement of how good he can be if he’s putting up 20 10 double doubles on an off night.

Ennis was horrible, as per usual. He had some moments hitting some shots, but I hate hate hate when he decides to call his own number inexplicably and bricks the shot or layup.

But the worst was KCP who clearly came out looking to prove a point to his old team who let him walk and didn’t max him out. After doing a great job for a while of taking good looks and not trying to do too much, he came out like an idiot today and jacked some horrible shots.

The most encouraging was Zo who, in addition to his work on the boards and stellar play making, did a great job finding offense beyond threes. He got into the paint and mid range and took shots available to him and made them. He’s shown that occasionally in games earlier in the season, but I’m pretty sure this was the most we’ve seen him do in a single game so far in his career. Very encouraging, and I hope Zo can build on this as we end the season.

Be healed DB. Hope you feel better soon.

Ball had is best game in a long time and showed a mid range game. He looked very quick and fast and played good defense. Almost a triple double.

Randle seemed to have a hard time with Detroit's size but still scored 23 and 11. Lots of miscommunication on defense so he looked bad and was in early foul trouble.

Kuzma had another strong game with 20 points and 10 rebounds. He was really strong together a bunch of good games now. Good to see him finish the season strong after a 2 month slump.

KCP was forcing a bunch of shots in the 2nd half and missed on a dunk.

Lopez was a passing machine with 9 assists

Team defense was piss poor again which is why these guys are losing.

Get well soon, DB! Good to see Lonzo's ability to be effective inside the 3-pt line.
