Loved the series, but I was expecting a gradual intro into this 6 episode mini series, but damn, they jumped right in from the beginning. Can't wait to see the next 5 episodes.

So Eps 2 and 3 are supposed to be "monster of the week" episodes, and from what I'm reading on AV Club and the like, 3 might be one of the best X-Files episodes period. Looking forward to it. Too bad this is only 6 episodes total.

I was struck by how seamless it felt. It was almost like the show wasn't off the air for all those years.

What a great conspiracy rant from Mulder. Obesity is a government plot. Loved it.

I gave up on X-Files somewhere around Season 8 when Duchovney left the show and only watched a few episodes of Season 9 when he returned. I do recall the episode where he finds out his sister wasn't really kidnapped by aliens.

I enjoyed last night's return but guess I'll have to binge watch those seasons to catch up.

I was a big X-Files guy.
I was thinking of DVR'ing it and watching it all one go in a day.
Happy to hear people are liking it.
I'd like to see X-Files have a few more mini-season's like this.

I saw some talk about making another movie. I didn't care much for the second movie, so I'm not excited about that idea. At least through two episodes, this mini-series is capturing the feel of the original show pretty well.

Hope you didn't DVR yesterday's because it started 30 minutes late here in LA due to the NFC Championship game running long.

Seems they were right. Ep 3 is outstanding.

I didn't expect a comedy episode, but it was pretty good.

Thanks bro - but it seems here in Canada that wasn't an issue.
I can't wait to catch up - probably will right before the finale of the 6 episode run and watch the finale live.

I'm happy that the feedback is positive.

Me and wife felt this season is so short, it was a waste of an episode...

I felt the same way, to be honest. It was an enjoyable episode, but with only six episodes, I would rather have seen more plot arc.

Incidentally, the rumor mill says that this series will end on a cliffhanger. Make of that what you will.

They just don't wanna close that loop do they?

Really enjoyed last night's episode, especially when the British guy went on his rant on how difficult it was to be human. I get a little weary of Obsessive Muldur at times. David Duchovney is at his best when you add some comedy to the mix.

I hated that series, I was young at the time and my older brother mad me watch it. I knew I was about to be bored when I heard the theme song.

That was many years ago and it might be a good series so I might give it a chance now the I'm old enough to understand it but idk.

That is a good way to put it. A worthwhile episode considering the entirety of the series, but after the first episode of this year, not what I was expecting. Rhys, as always, was great.

For those of you who did not watch HBO's Flight of the Conchords, Rys was brilliant in that series as well.

SPOILER ALERT

Overall, I'd say that was a decent run of episodes. The cliffhanger ending was seriously annoying, though. With about 15 minutes to go, it became obvious that there was not enough time to actually resolve the plotline. Just the same, I expected a higher degree of resolution than that.

How are you going to get a last-second miracle cure to seven billion people? At the rate people are getting sick and dying, you might be able to save a few hundred people, but that is about it. Instead of dealing with that issue, we get another impossible problem -- finding the unfindable son to save Mulder with stem cells -- and then we are left with Scully staring down the barrel of an Alien Death Ray on a UFO presumably piloted by CSM's henchmen.

I can deal with cliffhanger endings, and it was sort of fun to see The Great Evil Plot finally unveiled (even if it was sort of a remake of Kingsman: The Secret Service), but this was too much. This was the equivalent of ending Casablanca just as Major Strasser showed up at the airport.

On a separate note, I think I like Agent Einstein. I found her annoying for most of episode five, but she sort of grew on me starting at the end of that episode.

So, I found this damn thread.

Did anyone watch the newest season (11) that just concluded?

I started to watch Episode 1 and fell asleep. My recorder kept recording the episodes and just as I was about to free up some space, I went back. I'm glad I did. Episodes 2-6 are entertaining enough, not too good but not too bad, but Episode 7 (Rm9sbG93ZXJz) and 8 (Familiar) are worthy of the early efforts.

Overall, up through Episode 8 anyway, I find it to be much more interesting than Season 10.

I have only seen episode 1 but have them all on DVR. I enjoyed the first episode and look forward to the rest.
