The last two days have been a gut-punch for the Kings. They lost 3-2 to the Oilers last night, who then allowed the Ducks to come back and score a goal with under 2 minutes to go to tie it up in regulation. Then the Ducks won in OT. The Oilers never touched the puck in the OT. Literally.

Could be disastrous.

Yep. The oilers have had the Kings' number lately. Even worse is the flames are up next, who have always given the Kings trouble. Each game is a must win for them to close out the regular season.

Kings always seem to be struggling to even make the playoffs these days, I was hoping our fast start this year would have changed that but the NHL is tough as all the teams actually try.

0-0 at the end of 1 period against Calgary. With 6 games left (including this one), I think the Kings need to come away with 10 of a possible 12 points to get in.

OH how I'd love to see Kopi get 40 goals this year.

3-0 Kings, with all 3 goals coming on the PP. Just 4:30 left, so they should have this one.

Kings get the 2 points. Five games to go. The game in Anaheim on Friday looms very, very large.

The Kings style of play is conducive in the playoffs, not so much in the regular season as the playoffs are a sprint while the regular season is a marathon.

Kings currently in the playoffs.

3 games left, all at Staples Center.

It is right there for them if they can close the season strong.

Am I correct that they have the tie-breaker against Anaheim?

Ducks were down 3-1 tonight through 2. I knew they were going to at least get it to OT. They did. Then they won it OT. Again. It seems like the Ducks do stuff like this ALL THE TIME.

The game tomorrow night against Colorado is monumental. We're 1 point up on them, with both teams having 3 games left. And now we no longer control our fate for 3rd place in the division.

So if the Kings win in regulation tonight over the Avs, all they would need to get over the final two games is 1 point to clinch a playoff spot. This game is monumental tonight.

We lost Forbort to an injury early in the 1st period, as he slid awkwardly into the boards on a check. If he's out for a while, we're stretched pretty thin on D right now, with Muzzin week-to-week.

We need just 1 more point in the last 2 games to clinch a playoff spot. Almost there.

Never thought I'd be happy to see a Blackchicken win but I'll take it.

Never been so happy to see a Duncan Keith power play goal with less than 10 seconds left in regulation.
