The Charlotte @hornets have formally offered their GM post to Mitch Kupchak and are confident they can soon seal a deal with the longtime former Lakers executive, according to league sources.
Best of luck, Mitch! Bring MJ to relevence in the East as an owner, finally. No doubt he’ll do well without Jim Buss hanging as an anchor around his neck.

Hope he takes is and congratulations to Mitch. This is a chance for him to redeem himself. I tend to agree that Jimbo took them both down. Mitch was in an awkward position here. He had no idea how to deal with it, not sure anyone else could have dealt with it better. Jim had to go, the bummer was that Mitch aligned himself with Jim and I believe Jeannie felt undercut and betrayed by the two of them. I do believe that she was right and justified in cleaning house. I like our current direction much better than what we had going then. History is all it is now. _________________ Never argue with stupid people! Mitch was an honorable guy who stood by his boss. It wasn't his fault Jeanie wasn't happy with Doc's decisions, and it wasn't on him to betray his boss with whom he worked well. He went down with the ship, and I'm glad he's going to get a shot elsewhere. But like Jerry West, he should have been a Laker for Life. _________________ “We must always take sides. Mitch proved his Laker loyalty when he refused to trade Brandon in hopes of saving his job. I wish him well...... _________________ "You cannot live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you"

I would've preferred that Mitch stayed with the Lakers as some kind of senior advisor to Magic and Rob Pelinka. But good for Mitch that he can continue to be a GM in the NBA. He was definitely an asset to the Lakers and he'll be an asset to his next team too. _________________ Lakers 49ers Chargers Dodgers
I'm still a Mitch fan. Though the Michael Jordan ownership situation leaves much to be desired, and Mitch may be stuck with another crappy ownership situation. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

I wonder if he will bring in Carraro, who was also badly treated. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel
