I'm pumped for this one. Hoping Tigers a strong and consistent as he has been looking.

Fun Fact going into tomorrow. Shout "Dilly Dilly" and you will get kicked out.

True story . . .

Will Tiger ever be consistent again? Is it just injuries/age that trouble him or has he lost *it*?

It would do golf a world of good if Tiger is in contention on Sunday. The TV audience would rival that of the 60 Minute interview with Stormy Daniels.

Hope Tiger makes it to Sunday. Bud Light made a bunch of Dilly Dilly shirts, btw, they plan to have people wear them instead of shouting.

Jack Nicklaus' 15-year-old grandson made a hole-in-one on the 9th hole in the Par 3 contest today. It was incredible. Oh, and Jack himself shot 4 under par, at 78 years old. Tom Watson, 68, won the entire damn contest. And 82-year-old Gary Player shot 2 under. What a day.

That hole in one was awesome, but this is the shot of the Masters so far:

They sure are. The thing I love about golf is that while watching the best and seeing them make amazing shots is great, there's a great relatabilty in watching them when holes or shots don't go well. There's a lot of "Well I could done better than THAT" in a way that there isn't in other sports.

I went to the Genesis Open at the Riviera this year and my favorite moment was being 6 feet away watching Jordan Spieth "screw up" a very playable bunker shot for an easy up and in and then throw a mini-tantrum and storming over to his golf bag and just jamming his wedge into it while ignoring his caddie and muttering to himself loudly, "I am so pissed right now! This is the easiest birdie hole on the whole course!" And this was after watching him blow another up and I n opportunity by chipping over the green on a previous hole.

Just fun to see the best players in situations where their results aren't always better than what you could have done. It can be such humbling game, and it's good to know it humbles on all levels.

I would totally dig Tiger if he didn’t take himself so seriously on
the golf course. He just needs to smoke a bowl and enjoy himself.
Maybe this time away with injuries and sucking has humbled him?

Bye.

Eldrick shot 1 over 73. 4 bogies, 3 birdies, no eagles. T26

Spieth was incredible over that back 9+. Even that Bogie on 18 was nice.

And last years champion, Sergio Garcia, is essentially eliminated after his implosion at 15.

Spieth has now led or co-led in 9 of his 17 rounds at the Masters. That's amazing. Tiger has led or co-led in 9 of his rounds at the Masters for his entire career, for comparison's sake.

It could be an amazing leaderboard come Sunday.

I'll be interested to see who makes the cut after tomorrow. Obviously things can swing a great deal with another round, but some key guys are flirting with the line. Tiger makes the cut at this point. But I think he's going to have to play 4 strokes better than he did today to have a chance to make it.

Golf needs a Nicholas, Trevino, Woods, to bring back the golf luster. Spieth has the talent to do that if he wins consecutive matches. He's only 24.

Spieth is the best at the plotting of a course, where the best miss is, etc.

Augusta rewards that I feel which could account for some of his success there.

Truly one of the greatest American Sporting Events.

He's definitely a cerebral player like few are. I love how calculating he is. One of my favorite sports moments was watching him figure out the unplayable lie on that Sunday at St. Andrew's last year. He spent easily 10 minutes running through all the possible scenarios and then ended up hitting a completely blind shot almost perfectly and it was because he had clearly processed everything and then hit his shot based on ALL of it, not just the shot he was lining up.

He's one of those guys who you can watch kick into clarity gear and see the focus in this demeanor and think, "oh this (bleep) is ON!"

I can't imagine what must be going through his head. One hole just eliminates you on the first day.

He is so focused. At first I thought he was too hard on himself, but I actually think now it is more like venting and it keeps him loose.

He isn't the most talented player on the PGA Tour (and he is very talented) but his mental game and the ability to dial it in when he needs it are very very very good.

That’s where tiger went wrong. When the physical issues and the off course issues intruded, he lost his mental advantage, and he’s never gotten his legendary intimidating laser focus back. It’s what separated him from guys like Michelson, who actually has a better bag of shots but never had the ability to just dial in and go predator.

I mentioned earlier in the thread that moment at the Riviera, and that is exactly what that moment was - blow off some steam and move on.

That sums it up well. He embraces the game rather than pursue trying to get the longest drive etc. I think that's why he can rebound from trouble and focus in. He trusts his cognitive abilities, and thus when the execution follows, he's a machine.
