The Lakers have assigned rookie center Thomas Bryant to South Bay for their game tonight against Agua Caliente. @nolimittb31 has averaged 19.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest in 27 NBA-G-League games.

Rob Pelinka on Thomas Bryant.
In particular with Thomas Bryant, we all know the game is about shooting bigs. It was just stretch fours at one point, now you’ve got to have stretch fours and stretch fives, and Thomas Bryant is a seven-foot stretch five. Gunnar Peterson and our weight staff have done an unbelievable job just getting him locked in to being an ‘NBA strong’ player. His body fat went way down under 10 percent, he’s eating clean and you can just see the wiry, strong way he’s growing into his body.”

Another Quote from Rob Pelinka
He’s just an unbelievable, almost intoxicating 3-point shooter from the top of the key. It’s almost automatic. As he grows into his body and the pace of the NBA game you can see Lonzo coming off that high ball screen, you can see Kuz in the space that Thomas Bryant will open up for our cutters and our slashers. We do feel like he’s going to be a big piece of the future and how we want to play, and how we want to build this.”
This guy is now a 7 footer with a great wingspan. He and Zubac will man the middle with Randle going small ball. A diamond in the rough.
Thomas Bryant has been the most efficient player in the G-League, and has been the most efficient roll man, transition player, scorer on putbacks, and scorer at the rim (on non post ups).
The NBA G League announced the results of the Rookie of the Year voting and Los Angeles Lakers center Thomas Bryant finished second in the voting.
In 37 games (35 starts) while on assignment with the South Bay Lakers, Bryant averaged 19.7 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 blocks while shooting 59.5 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from three-point range.
The Indiana product was named to the Midseason All-NBA G League Team and tallied nine double-doubles during his first year in the NBA G League.

But look at that list of past winners. Don't see a single name that had any impact in the NBA ever. Just saying. Maybe Bryant will be the first!?! _________________ Never argue with stupid people! They will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience!! - Twain

I caught a game in days past and I didn't see much to
talk about of course if your looking at stats then he looks
good.
Again, maybe it was that one game...
he looks good when you watch other games as well. not just the stats. he has good energy. has a decent low post game. and can shoot the 3 ball and can seemingly score very well for a big man. against gleague talent. at worse, he can be a 3rd string center that can stretch the floor and give energy. thats at worse. I will go a step further.
If he keeps progressing. tell me, who would you rather have on your roster Him or Zaza P? think about it. and I'll give you Zaza in his prime.
At 1:43 Bryant shows some ability to step out and defend the perimeter. I know everyone is focused on bringing is all star free agents but I’m concerned about the center position.
Will Bryant be ready for a role this season or is he another zubac destined to play in the G-league for a few years.

Lopez will likely re-sign with the Lakers if LeBron and PG13 both come. _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. And people who would be happy in heaven if Christ were not there, will not be there."

Not really ready for major minutes imo. Average rebounder and rim defender despite having good length. Needs strength but his biggest issue is team defensive awareness.
I was more worried about when he went up against actual NBA competition and got crossed up by Tarik Black at the top of the key. That's something that needs major fixing. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:
