Yeah I'm a fan of Caruso's defense and approach to the game. I think he'll be a reliable backup next year. I'd love it if the Lakers could pull that Thomas dude from last year's Summer League squad out of Europe or wherever he's playing so he can join Wear and Caruso. The Summer League's formidable Accounting Firm would rise from the ashes and once again be a force to be reckoned with!

Love what he brings.

He has a season full of some pretty nice plays/highlights. You don’t (bleep) with the accountant

He's so much better than Ennis it's not even fun.
Might keep him as our 3rd string PG next season.

Might as well promote him to starting PG til Lonzo gets back and let's see what he can do. We've already seen Ennis' ceiling and it ain't that high.

Do we bring back the pope next season? Oddly enough, I always feel semi-comfortable with Caruso out there.

Why did we not sign Caruso for the remainder of the season? It seems like a lot of teams have did this recently for the benefit of the player...getting a year of service in the NBA.

Hopefully the Lakers will not need him on the big team next season...

We have him for 2 years on a 2-way contract.

I thought 2Way contracts can only be 1 year at a time....and all 2way guys become RFA's at the end of the season?

ok this isn't where I read it, but this does clarify that a 2-way contract can be 2 seasons in length...

http://www.nba.com/lakers/releases/170713-alex-caruso-signed

https://www.ocregister.com/2017/07/13/lakers-sign-guard-alex-caruso-to-two-year-deal-on-two-way-contract/

I'll find the other thing I read more recently about Alex's contract eventually...

^^^^Thanks for correcting me. Not sure I am a fan of this though....kind of seems unfair to the player cause the team can still cut them at any time if I am not mistaken.

kinda but the player get to showcase their talent in NBA games compared to just G-League games (unless they get multiple 10 days contracts). It's fair-ish

Caruso all night long. Scrappy and tough and can play defense. Ennis is more skilled but he’s soft and can’t guard a lick.

Fine with either as the third string end of the bench cheerleader. On the court I have my concerns. Lakers need an upgrade!

If either is seeing significant playing time next season... something really bad happened.

Ennis seems like he doesn't give a crap about winning or losing, like he's just out there to collect a paycheck.

you have a coin? Caruso mostly gives you very little...and Ennis can help or hurt you.

And Caruso just stinks. Doesn't even try defensively.

Caruso as a 3rd stringer but we need a legit backup. Maybe we will find one in the draft...someone who brings scoring to the table when Lonzo sits. Give teams a different look

Neither Caruso or Ennis have a place on a winning NBA team. They wouldn't be on most NBA rosters, even as a third stringer.

He’s deceptively athletic . he can stay in front with most bench guards when I watched him.
