It does make for a compact org chart with the perception of equality instead of having perhaps two vice presidents and the rest are just board members on a lower tier.
I don't know if the leadership gets much compensation beyond maybe expenses, so calling them vice presidents instead of board members is a low or no cost perk. |

It benefits the organization because if they play Deng and he's totally useless and sucks it will be even more impossible to trade him with two years left. At least now they can sell it that he is refreshed and can still play competitively |

From the sound of it, he wants to play what he feels are meaningful, competitive minutes. Probably doesn't want to risk injury for this team if all he'll be getting are "token veteran" minutes. He's staying in shape for his next stop or if Luke decides to start him. Just my humble opinion. |
Could be, although I wouldn't expect he expects to start. It would seem logical with a raft of injuries that there would be a solid stretch of minutes a vet would be ready to help out with. |
I think Luke prefers Wear in that case. Better shooter, fits the system (played well with Lonzo in the SPL), doesn't have an ego to manage. |

Deng is done. If we could get any useful minutes out of him he would've been playing. The honest truth is that he probably was 32...8 years ago. |

He needs to play on a slow paced team and the league is not getting slower. The pace of his last Heat team, which was 26th then, would be comfortably last today. |

This..
No way Deng keeps up with the youngins running it up and down. He'd look nice for a playoff team, but of course..his contract doesn't look as nice. |

Aside from any conspiracy theory stuff, this is about what I figured the reason was. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night. |

Deng and the lakers aren’t going to risk and injury and the hopes of a trade over a pointless game.
What does magic have to do with this ? |

If deng played and got hurt and all chances of him being traded went away Magic would never live it down |

does an injury really hurt his trade value? Whoever trades for him will almost certainly be doing it for what is attached. |

Either way playing him helps this team in no way. I’d rather see players get their once in a lifetime chance than see an over paid out of game shape deng on the floor. |

Who wants deng? He’s owed 36 million over 2 years. Unless your giving up a young no one is gonna touch him. |

The problem is the lakers will still be stuck with him for another season. Unless we pull another “moz” deal out of the hat expect to see deng ride the pine for another 82 games.
Lastly magic is playing hardball with deng to force a buy out that won’t count to next season. The more deng is wanting to play the more magic will hold out. My opinion that’s Sort of horrible by magic but so is luol game |
