You know.. under the radar this guy has been a sniper in the G-league from three.

56% last year from three apparently, and 48% this year. The guy is a shooter.. I don't understand how no other NBA team wanted to give a shooter like that a chance.

No doubt. And from a marketing standpoint, the story is (bleep) brilliant. Instead of closing the season with the focus on open ended narratives such as missing the playoffs again, another losing season, the injury pile up, uncertainty of the offseason... we get treated to an inspirational story that generates a sense of hope among fans (or people in general) and gives the sports media world the feels.

Despite the loss to rocks, it was a win-win.

That's perfect nickname.

He does remind me of Kobe, not from a basketball standpoint, but more from his facial structure and his voice. Vocally, same tonal inflection and cadence, chooses his words thoughtfully, and exudes intelligence, so in that sense, he reminds me of Kobe.

The more I think about it, the more I believe the Lakers should extend him an invite next season, or better yet, lock him up with a non-guaranteed contract so they can assure themselves of a closer look during the summer and preseason.

I've seen alot of the SBL games, but never paid much attention to Ingram. I've have a general distrust of G League players especially after watching Jabari Brown and Vander Blue drop 40 and 50 point games, only to do nothing in their Laker stints.

Then I looked up Ingram's stat history and pretty much fell off my chair. This guy has been putting up elite 3 point shooting numbers for almost a decade. This is a guy who has shot 48% 3's while he's been working for the Laker organization the last 5 years, and doing it while coming off the bench.

On a team that desparately needs shooting from the perimeter, especially from the 3 pt line, why has this guy never been given a look, other than perhaps age?

If a 37 year old Kyle Korver still fits the 3 point specialist role, then why can't a 33 year old Andre Ingram?

Got to give the guy credit too, the lakers FO may have created the script, but he acted his part flawlessly.Seriously, when he hit his first ever nba 3 point shot then followed it up by going strong to the hole and getting fouled in the process, I literally jumped out of my chair! Everyone wants to see him succeed, it's great!

Anyone finds his 3 pointers extremely weird though, he seems like almost stumbling and falling out of balance with his follow through.

It shouldn't work but it does.

No one will remember the fact that the Lakers have lost 12 of their last 15.

Brilliant move by the F.O. Hope we can keep him within the organization. Lots of perseverance and someone we can be proud of.

PG13 or Uncle Ingram?

100%.

He was so locked into the moment, he mentioned not seeing his family cheer him on. Just an exceptional story all things considered.

And LOL @ Uncle Ingram. Yinny on a roll this week, yo.

if we are a championship level team next year, and need a cheap 3rd string guard, this guy seems to be an option. Shooting is such a necessity and he's got that.

Really happy for Ingram. He showed all of us how to threat opportunities in our lives and not taking anything easy.
One thing though I do not like is that everyone are looking at him like he is some king of poor guy who doesn't have anything to eat or some random guy with oportunity to play NBA game. I mean come on.

G League players only make $26k a year. He could make more money working at In n Out.

I guess you get your summers off and can work another job like he does tutoring.

Brandon who??

I'm at a lost as to why someone with such a great attitude about things and a deadly 3pt stroke has not been given a serious chance until now. But glad the Lakers gave him a taste of the NBA and he was able to make the most of it so far.
