I think people are really underrating how much growth BI showed this season in only his 2nd year. He's going to be an elite wing in this league once he puts on some grown man weight. Like BI, Giannis and KD both entered the league at 19. Here are their first 3 seasons in the NBA:
Giannis Antetokopoompolo

I will continue to support BI and i like the numbers but when i watch him i just dont see that "it" factor. I almost feel like kuzma showed more of that in year 1.
Hope im wrong and i hope BI becomes a beast, but id be lying if i said i wasnt worried about the chances. |

I love Kuz, he is smooth and always aggressive ... and he will improve. But I'm pretty certain BI at 22 is going to be on a whole other level of play than Kuz at 22. |

It's not sexy, but if Brandon could just drill down and learn to shoot FTs consistently, his numbers would explode. |

Concerning that he doesnt knock down free throws at a high rate ?
As a scorer/shooter that concerns me |

This is the joy of having a team full of young talent, every year is a potential breakout year for someone. Randle this year, Ingram/Kuz next season and Lonzo on deck. It's basketball porn, real raunchy stuff. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

That's what an all-time great scorer looks like. He was a scoring savant from day 1.
I just wanted to show that BI made a huge leap from year 1 to year 2, and that we have every reason to believe he will continue on that trajectory like those other 2 guys did.
To me the thing that jumped out about KD's 3rd year was his FTA. Every great scorer is able to get to the free throw line and he took a big jump that year.
For Giannis, he just made a slow and steady improvement across the board. I think that is more in line with the growth BI will show. Neither of them are specialists at any one thing, like KD was/is with scoring.
Both Giannis and KD have physical advantages over BI, so I don't expect BI to reach the bar that they set. But if he's anywhere even close, then he'll be a future all-star. |

And comparing Ingram to him isn’t fair to Brandon. He will be his own player, hopefully one that will help lead to some titles. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

True. The third year is about the time players really display their game. Brandon is definitely trending in the right direction, especially after that horrible start in his rookie year.
His rookie year, at least for me, was expected. A young man who just came out of his teenage years, with an underdeveloped body, will inevitably struggle against players two, three, or more years older.
The third year is critical. He's got a lot of work to do, but I like what I've seen since the second half of his rookie year, notwithstanding, the struggles. |

Bi had great improvement in year 2 and since he is such a hard worker I expect to see even greater improvement next year.
I also saw more explosiveness this year and I think the explosiveness and quickness will continue to improve as he gains strength. I see him getting stronger, quicker and move explosive but without putting on a lot of weight. He may add 10 to 15 pounds but I think that will be about it.
Next year I expect that his defense will improve, his outside shooting and his handle too. His numbers may not go up to crazy levels if we add a couple of big time scorers but 18 to 20 would seem realistic. I also think he will become more aware of the open man and a better passer.
The guy can play the 1-4 and is an all round player. If he is available more often I think he is already really good and that we will see the same type of player who is just a little stronger and better in every facet of this all round game. |

I don't think he did, doesn't mean I don't expect him to get there.
Reasonable minds can disagree, man |
It’s just absurd to say otherwise. His play right before his groin injury was at star level. Was it generational, MVP level, or on par with being a superstar? No, but it was on par with being a perennial All-Star. I don’t know how any degree of reasonableness would say otherwise unless you have a totally different idea of what a “star” is than I do. _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. Yes. I thought he was good, but not all-star flashes level. I look forward to re-watching those games though |

Makes me sad that our young guys, like Ingram, arent in the playoffs. The experience they are receiving gives an edge to guys like Tatum and Mitchell an edge. Nothing like playing in the playoffs to teach you how to play winning basketball. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service

oh shut up..he had some awesome moments, but at this point i would put the adds at 50-50 he becomes an all star.
I just hold him to a high standard considering he was a #2 pick
Im just saying by year three you can usually tell if a player is going to be a role player or actually turn into the star you hoped when you drafted them 2nd overall. |
You place his odds of becoming an All-Star at 50-50, yet you somehow didn’t see any star potential in him this year? Do you also think 2+2 is 3? If you do, that's more understandable. That's even more optimistic than I am. I'd put his odds at 40-60. But if you're the kind of fan who primarily remembers moments, your shallowness makes more sense. _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God.
