Tobias/Lou and the 2 lotto picks is pretty enticing but I have a feeling if Kawhi gets traded Pop will retire so the Spurs are gonna want young pieces and picks.
who is kawahi coming to play with? Boban? Injured Galo? even if they somehow took the salary/player of harris
Yeah, I have no idea why Clippers are mentioned as a possible destination, even if they trade for him and DJ and Bradley walk, they still won’t have enough cap to spend unless they get rid of Gallo’s contract and no one would be dumb enough to budge.
They could have $45 mil in cap space _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

No. The logic is, you use that for guys who are under contract.
They did with Irving.
Doubt they do that with KL who would be an impending FA. So if he bolts, you traded away what should have been for a guy under contract.
But teams do this when they are trying to win. Miami gave up the top pick for Love.
You mean Cleveland? And I doubt Cle got Love for one yr. Plus, LeBron wanted Love so even if Love left, they got LeBron to sign w/ them.
Look at Cle this yr. They held onto that Brooklyn pick because they had no assurances LeBron would stay. They weren't willing to go "all in."
I was referencing a team in win now mode trading for a star who is a pending free agent. I don't think any of them were on the market when the Cavs were shopping this deadline.
Another example would be Houston and CP3. OKC and George.
Lakers and Dwight Howard
We should get the mods to add the bolded into the profanity filter.
We should refer to him as "He who shall not be named."

It depends on who they could flip DJ for.
you have no confidence with our cap space yet you are making best case scenarios for clippers. the irony

Maybe it is as simple as the Clippers wanting to create a buzz for summer 2019.
Since his uncle is involved, back channel communications are going to be relatively non existent for front offices across the league.
Teams can find a somewhat valid excuse to talk to the Mintz and Rich Paul types of agents because they represent multiple players.
Completely different talking to the agent/uncle because he represents only Kawhi.

why do you think GSW and Houston will not make a call....a healthy Kawhi makes both better. If they could put Durant, Steph and Kawhi on the same roster....I would no longer waste my time watching the NBA.

Kawhi Interest on this board feels like the beginning of The Dwightmare all over again. A guy in a winning situation is unhappy for mysterious reasons. And we're assuming that in coming here, whatever his issues are that preventing him for even being on the bench for his teammates, will magically disappear once he's in a Laker jersey.
To me, he's either a high injury risk or a high locker room risk. Or, like Dwight, he might be both.
The only difference is we'd be giving up even greater assets for the Pandora's Box that is Kawhi. Dream teams can be fun to think about, but Dwightmares and Kawhitemares can take years to wake up from.

Because they cant afford them all.
They don’t need cap space to trade for him. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
Where Kawhi Leonard ends up this summer 'has a direct impact' on LeBron James | SportsNation | ESPN
lot of good insight from Brian Windhorst.
lets get it:
Lebron
Kawahi
Paul George
Assuming Magic/Pelinka do their research on KL's health condition and sees that's he good to go, then (bleep) it. Sign and trade Randle and Ingram for KL, sign Lebron and PG.

Have to totally agree with you. Something doesn't feel right. I never thought Dwight felt right and look at how that turned out?
As much as I think Leonard is amazing and would be fantastic, he is either 1) really hurt and not healing right or 2) he is playing the Spurs, a very highly respected organization, wrong.
Both are not good.....
I think Laker fans need to think about that before we start trading Ingram, Ball, Kuz, etc....
There is huge risk here......

They'll probably only allow the Clippers to evaluate him...
