Tavon's numbers nose dived last year....one of my WVU favorites.
Somewhat related....any news on Stedman Bailey....supposed to be trying to return this season after getting shot in the head a couple years ago. |

That was good value, and it's interesting that they announced him as a linebacker. |

Pains me to say it, but Oakland got good value wth Arden Key and then again with Maurice Hurst. If they work out without the health / character issues, that’s 2 good pickups. _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.

he was a Spur @ WVU which is basically a linebacker/safety hybrid....in the NFL I can see him playing strong safety, nickel or even a weak side linebacker if he can add some weight. Probably initially will be a special teams all star....is just one of those guys that has a nose for the ball. I would not be confident in him lining up every down as a CB, but I would have no issue with him covering the slot receiver in certain sets. One of those guys that I hope the DC does not view him as a tweener (weakness) but more as versatile (strength) and seeks ways to take advantage of his abilities. Not even sure what base defense Chargers currently run.
unrelated, but I noticed his brother Ka’Raun signed as UDFA with Seattle. Hopefully they can remain healthier than brother Kevin. |

They could be. Too bad I hated the rest of their draft. |

Rooting hard for him, seems like a great kid.
It was cool to see him and his brother at the draft so happy together. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Quote: | Ben Roethlisberger might be quarterbacking the Steelers at age 40.
Roethlisberger told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that he plans to play three to five more years if he stays healthy and his offensive line is intact.
The Steelers selected Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph with the 76th overall pick in last week's NFL draft, raising questions about whether the franchise had found an heir apparent to Big Ben.
"If he's going to be their guy, that's great; but in my perfect world, it's not going to be for a while," Roethlisberger told the newspaper. |

Man Threatens Dallas Cowboys, SWAT Team Called
A Florida man called and threatened the offices of the Dallas Cowboys because he was upset the team did not sign him after the 2018 NFL draft, according to a police report.
Keyon Reed told police in Melbourne, Florida that he did not intend to harm anyone involved with the Cowboys, but he was frustrated that Dallas did not "show him the real money." Reed is a former University of Tennessee at Chattanooga defensive end who last played college football in 2012.
Cowboys security reportedly called police in Melbourne and asked officers to conduct an emergency mental health evaluation on Reed - something police officers in Florida can do under the Baker Act, according to University of Florida Health.
The reporting officer wrote that upon arrival he smelled marijuana around the front of the house. A detective then wrote a search warrant for the residence and the SWAT team was called.
He was not listed on the team's 2013 roster. |

Quote: | In New York, veteran quarterback Josh McCown plans to do everything in his power to help rookie Sam Darnold learn the ropes. In Pittsburgh, veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger apparently plans to to everything in his power to not help Mason Rudolph.
Appearing on 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh, Roethlisberger spoke candidly about the decision of the Steelers to draft Rudolph in round three.
“I was surprised when they took a quarterback because I thought that, maybe in the third round, you know you can get some really good football players that can help this team now,” Roethlisberger said. “And nothing against Mason. I think he’s a great football player. I don’t know him personally, but I’m sure he’s a great kid. I just don’t know how backing up or being the third guy, well, who knows where he’s going to fall on the depth chart, helps us win now.
“But, you know, that’s not my decision to make. That’s on the coaches and the G.M. and the owner and those kind of things. So if they feel like he can help our team so be it. But I was a little surprised.”

Ichiro Suzuki: "Who the F**k is Tom Brady?"
Quote: | One morning in spring training, 2017, he was in the coaches’ room looking at his cell phone text messages. Ichiro told the coaches about one message he had just received from a number he didn’t recognize. The guy said he’d gotten Ichiro’s number from Alex Rodriguez, and that he wanted to come meet him and study his stretching system.
“What’s the guy’s name?” asked one of the coaches.
Ichiro strolled to the end of the text. “Some guy named Tom Brady. Who the f— is Tom Brady?” |

Man, Ichiro is awesome.
I wonder if this is some urban legend story like the one about Rickey Henderson and John Olerud. |

Quote: | Blake Bortles thwarts house party criminal
The name belonging to the Jaguars’ starting quarterback sounds like it comes from a Harry Potter novel. There’s a chance it’s actually the true identity of a crime-fighting superhero.
Blake Bortles, via multiple reports, thwarted a thief at a teammate’s house party on Wednesday night at Jackonsville Beach. The would-be criminal, 18-year-old Joseph Horton, reportedly rummaged through various vehicles belonging to people at the party, including Bortles’ Ford F-150 truck.
Horton took Bortles’ wallet — and would have taken the truck if it hadn’t been blocked in by other cars. So Horton then entered the house, and the invited guests realized that he shouldn’t have been there. So Bortles detained his and called police. Examination of surveillance video then revealed what Horton had been up to.
It’s unclear whether Bortles possesses any superpowers. Chris Simms would say that, if he does, they have nothing to do with throwing a football. Regardless, not all heroes wear two-tone helmets. |
