(Although M. Thompson is extremely well-known on the bay area beats and I don’t know who this other person is but I will take it LOL)

Then I saw the first tweet was by a M. Thompson and got REALLY confused

I want Klay on this team so badly

Starting to look like SA where they had 3 all-stars taking $10M haircuts.

Who would’ve ever thought a wealthy guy from an already wealthy family with wealthy siblings would value an ideal situation over money? Truly mind blowing.

I could see if you are taking a discount so your team has the cap room to sign other players to help out but the Warriors are already over the cap and can sign him over the cap if they want to. So why sacrifice a sizable % of your earnings to give your BILLIONAIRE team owners savings??

Because the billionaires would consider cutting off one of those players.

everyone is different.....always felt like Klay valued his happiness as much as anything, and probably thinks why mess up a good thing. Either way he is going to earn enough money to take care of his grandchildren's grandchildren.

I think homegrowing their team, save KD, is part of the sustainability model for GS. Guys grew up there and when you add all-time winning, are willing to make the math work given how high the salaries will be anyway.

Klay taking a paycut to stay in GS is the league's worst nightmare. If they can also keep Draymond, those guys are young enough where they could keep contending for the next 5 years.
