Assume PG signs this summer, Lopez will work with the FO to stick around in either case and Randle is re-signed at a price to allow a max next summer.

If KL has let the Lakers know he's coming next summer, as an unnamed agent has said, and if KL is healthy, do you want KL or Lebron ?

If I know that KL is healthy and is coming next summer, I’m passing on Lebron, as KL and PG is a better fit with our young core and gives us a longer title window, with those extra years being years where the Ws are going to be fading.

KL is younger, brings less drama/baggage, and impacts the game on both ends. Lebron doesn’t even try to get back on D sometimes. That doesn’t fit well with the culture we’re trying to build.

If you aren’t sure KL is coming, then you sign Lebron if he wants in, but if both are healthy and I have a choice, I’m taking KL.

Agreed.

If KL really wanted to come to the Lakers, though, there would be nothing stopping him from sharing his medical information with them, as long as it was under the table and untraceable.

So this agent is saying we prefer Kawhi over Lebron?

That's how I read it.

Everything being equal, Kawhi is the easy answer.

I'd say the reality is if the Lakers can get Lebron, they will snap him up.

Just hope we can get PG this summer. Would really help our case with FAs in 2019 and beyond.

I lean towards wanting to see the Lakers pass on LeBron now so as to see the younger Kawhi pursued next Summer, if it turns out he's healthy and unhappy in SA. Very preferable to me essentially for the benefit of not seeing the Lakers become just the next franchise to host a LeBron visit for a couple or three years at best. LJ is getting up there and getting older, even for a guy who has managed to avoid injury and reduction all these years. The cumulative penalty of age's exposure to diminution comes for everyone.

Lebron never does well on LG polls. I voted KL but I would take either.

This. The timeline just clicks so much better.

Randle Kawhi PG Ball has the makings of the best defensive lineup in the NBA

Pretty obvious choice if the Lakers know that Kawhi is healthy.

Ever since love has been irrelevant to the lakers discussion. To me Love has always been just Love though.

Kawhi.

For 2 reasons.

1) He is younger and fits our young core's timeline better (longer potential championship window).

2) As a competitor I would rather BEAT LeBron than be part of his traveling salvation show. If I could paint the perfect scenario of the Lakers getting back to being the champions it would involve a road were we beat the Warriors, beat LeBron's new superteam on the Rockets, and beat a healthy Celtics in the finals.

How about Daddario this summer and if you know Arcuri is a sure thing next summer you renounce Lena Dunham (Randle) wait to stretch Rebel Wilson (Deng) and just sign one year contracts will all the available hood rats to get you through until next summer.

Can't we just sign Lebron and trade him next summer if Kawhi wants to come?

For the question asked yes definitely Kawhi.

Realistically we don't know we are getting anybody so you take who you can get. And if Kawhi wants to come here next year then you can look to trade Lebron if need be.

Kawhi as a free agent is the only way i feel comfortable acquiring him. I wouldn't do a trade for him unless it was midseason and we've seen him play.
