Would it be good to trade Ball and the Cavs pick for a top 5 pick in 2018 to get Trae Young? Lavar is more headache than he's worth until Lonzo speaks up for himself and tells his dad to shut up.

Edit: Potential trade with Hawks.

Lakers get the 2018 3rd pick and 34th pick.

Hawks get Lonzo Ball, Luol Deng, 2019 1st round pick, 2018 25th pick, 2018 47th pick.

Lakers clear Deng’s salary and can sign 2 max free agents and keep Randle’s bird rights. Hawks get their PG of the future and can trade Schroeder.

Having IT and with Josh Hart emerging Zo is looking pretty expendable. I would put Zo, the 2018 pick and a players (not named BI, Kuz, IT, Jules or Hart) and go hunting for one of those max players. I know it's pipe, but I'm making the calls anyway.

At this point part of package is LaVar. How many teams would want that cancer?

If I had to guess which was more likely to happen:

Ball getting traded or this thread getting locked

My guess would be the latter..

IT is the real cancer. Let’s get rid of him ASAP.
Lonzo is the perfect fit on any team, you don’t get rid of a guy like that. He may not be the go-to guy, but that’s OK.

I don't think IT fits into the future of this team.

Sure why not he's not untouchable, he hasn't proven to be. If anything he's been proven to be pretty inconsistent...

Especially if the Lakers can draft Holliday...

I like Ball, but would be open to trading him. I would do that trade with the Hawks, but why wouldnt they just draft Trae Young?

As long as The Father does not keep his big mouth shot, can't get much for him. The Father is a drama and distraction.

If The Dad would "Be Quiet" for a long while, his son would have a ton of more value.
He doesn't realize he's hurting his son's stock with his antics. Zo would have a ton of more value and leverage on this team and in this league if it weren't for everything LaVar has done, since he's been drafted.

There are a lot of good things that can be said in terms of his unorthodox business approach, but in terms of being in support of His Only Son's NBA Career, he needs to be quiet.

Serious question, is the Hawk FO drunk? Because they would need to be to take Deng in that deal.

Best way is to ask HIS FATHER to shut it and let the kid play his game.
