I try to stay on topic. This was the closest thread I found for what I wanted to say. |

Lonzo - still has issues to work out - but youngest player to hit a triple double since Lebron
Then all the way at the end of the draft.
They get freaking Kuz who did his best mamba impression today against the top team in the West!
PS: oh yeah there's josh hart and thomas bryant too
The team still has a long way to go but I feel it like the old days with nick the quick and eddie again |
Not a good analogy given how their Lakers' careers ended. _________________ Courage doesn't always roar.

I was referring to the feel of the team during the mid 90s just prior to getting Shaq. We had a young exciting team with nick and eddie that was just making the playoffs but seemed to have a bright future. Yeah, things turned out differently for nick and eddie with trades and stuff later on, but I kind of meant at that particular moment in the 90s.I remember feeling 'hope' for the team. Haven't felt that way for a long time. |

Yeah I liked that era. It was exciting because even though we weren't championship calibur, we could still beat the best teams on any given night. Heck we almost eliminated the Sonics in the first round with that team.
But this team has that feeling plus a whole lot more. I think this team can develop into something much much better.! |

Well... I think the Russell trade downgraded him from fantastic to pretty good. That said, he can upgrade to fantastic again if he converts the cap space into something good. But that's a big if. |

Trading Russell was addition by subtraction. Plus shredding that god-awful Mozgov contract was a miracle. That's a win/win in one trade. Plus, u get Kizma, GTFOH.
Lopez is hard to watch, though. Seriously. He has to be moved. |

PELINKA'S NEW JOB: WHEN PREPARATION MEETS HUMANITY
Quote: | "I love the continuity and team building and all working together for a common purpose," Pelinka said. "When you're an agent, you're really focused on an individual's brand. It's a very supporting endeavor. This has that team feel, collaborating with all the folks around here. That part I love." |

I actually prefer Pelinka over Magic. It seems like Pelinka does most of the heavy lifting.. Magic just smiles and keeps good relations. |

I look at Pelinka as sort of the governor that keeps Magic in check.
Magic will get the grand vision and where he wants the team to go.
But Rob will look at all the details. The match to the team. The finances and fit. Whether it will be a good long term contract.
He will look at the analytics and the future fit. Whether the team puts themselves in a bind by doing that deal. Of course, he should have a staff to gather the data.
Rob is the type of guy that was missing to balance the vision of the player types. Not that he is not that also. |

West: because he drafted LG's favorite son: Marcus Banks while West was in Memphis right? |

Officially, the Nets picked Kuzma and traded him to the Lakers.
Now you can get all nitpicky and say the Lakers would've taken him away at 28th and that the Dlo pick actually netted Josh Hart & Thomas Bryant, but why are we arguing over semantics?
Dlo & Mozgov's contracts are gone, Kuz + Hart had incredible rookie seasons, and the team is on the up and up. The F is the point of being so granular with the transaction ledger? |
