Hey all,

Here's the latest Hollywood Hoops:

While Kyle Kuzma was named ahead of Lonzo Ball to the NBA's All-Rookie 1st Team - we at @hollywood_hoops argue Lonzo made more of an impact. Also draft promises, Kawhi off the board? Randle and RFA, etc. w/@JoshMartinNBA https://www.almightyballer.com/hollywood-hoops-ep-85-la-lakers-kyle-kuzma-higher-impact-lonzo-ball-nba-all-rookie-teams/

Cheers,

The fact that Lonzo still made the All Rookie 2nd team despite not playing in a lot of games shows that the NBA peers still think highly of him

this as well.

I think people need to realize scoring takes skill. and scoring consistently takes skill + a lot of practice.

But if your main job is to score, and you're not playing that great of defense, and you're rarely having to get others involved since thats some other person's job. Then in essence you have one job and you do your one job well. which is great.

However, lonzo ball, plays very good defense, rebounds very good for a pg, and runs the team very well.

Those are 3 things that he himself does very well at a high rate.

Kuzma did one thing well. he came along later in the season and showed promise on defense and the glass. but he didnt do those things well or very well.

again, its a lot easier to concentrate on one thing than it is to concentrate on 3 or more things.

At least, it means the media people who voted for the award thought Lonzo had a better rookie season than John Collins, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Josh Jackson and Bam Adebayo.

Those all nba lists are many times, for the pedestrian fan.
Or a 13 year old.
Or both.

Kuzma comfortably made the first team and received 93 first team votes and seven second team votes, meaning he was on every ballot. Ball only received seven first team votes.

Wikipedia
"Voting is conducted by the NBA head coaches; who are not allowed to vote for players on their own team."

Something is amiss since there are not 100 head coaches. 100 media voters, a panel of sports writers and broadcasters? Whom are these 100?
