Quote: | Ex-NBA player legally drunk, on drugs during fatal accident
When former NBA player Rasual Butler and his wife were killed in a car accident in Southern California earlier this year, it shocked an unsuspecting basketball community.
Just 38 years old at the time of his death, Butler last played in the NBA back in 2015-16. So many around the Association played with him. It was a heartbreaking scene that included former “American Idol” contestant Leah LaBelle, also perishing.
Now, several months later, more details are coming out regarding the accident. And it’s not good.
According to TMZ Sports, a toxicology report shows that Butler at a blood alcohol content of .118 over the legal limit. The same report indicates that the 14-year NBA veteran tested positive for marijuana, methamphetamine and oxycodone.
As the gossip rag notes, these results could play a role if LaBelle’s family does decide to file a wrongful death lawsuit against Butler’s estate. |

He was 38 and she was 31. That's pretty sad, but I think a lot of people feel they are invincible in a big SUV, and they drive like it too.
She was really pretty too.
