Hilarious - Hasn't the guy heard of a VPN? Probably logged into those accounts on Sixers premises. Stephen A gushes about the guy, but the truth is that he inherited a great team and drafted a bust at 1.

Didn't the league put in charge because they didn't want to see Hinkie run the team any longer? After all it was Hinkie's strategy that got them to where they are today.

I think that was his father, Jerry Colangelo.

This.

I stopped after reading two examples.

So, aside from being exceedingly petty and unprofessional, will someone please show anything he tweeted that was really bad?

He telegraphed the team’s intentions with regards to the Fultz trade about a month before it happened. He discussed private medical information about his own players, encouraging bloggers to set up interviews with the team to ask about said info. He bashed his own players and talked about who he’d like to trade them for. It’s definitely a firebable offense.

Thanks Ocho!

And yes, you’re right. Firing lines certainly crossed.

Maybe it’s a sign of the times for me but I somehow assumed he had made a racist comment.

This helps.

Yep. Coangelo’s in deep (bleep). This story is bonkers.

So if turns out to be true, will Philly get rid of both father and son?

Apparently twitter now thinks it was Bryan Colangelo's wife running the accounts.

It's either Bryan Colangelo or it's Bill Simmons coming up with an elaborate multi year plan on how to take down the Celtics atlantic division rival.

Those are the only explanations I will accept right now.

The source is a person involved in AI development

I'll just throw out there that Sam Hinkie's current job is AI development, total coincidence i guess.

So apparently BC may have also had a couple burner Disqus accounts that leaked team details according to threads at RealGM. [Link]

The Eric Jr account is Colangelo’s wife. The rest are believed to be Colangelo.

I would. I’d be surprised to learn that Jim is capable of logging on to the internet, or even owning a computer. Another Manhattan, Chaz!

They're prepping the press release. He won't survive this.

Besides the fact that he is an idiot, why would he think this was a good idea to have these other accounts? And run them personally.

You head an organization. You need some dirt or need to do some propaganda, you get someone else to do the dirty work. You can’t get an intern to run this crap?

A vpn? Obviously he wasn’t tech saavy if he was going to do all this subterfuge.

Bye.

It seems the accounts were mostly to blow off steam. It must be frustrating to not be able to address certain things publicly because of your professional responsibilities but that is part of the job. He probably never imagined getting caught, especially since he was spreading it across 5 accounts. But he did get caught and so he's gotta go.

Agreed JB

Sucks for all the people on his staff who had nothing to do with this

He's stupid for not doing it the old-fashioned way -- leaking stuff to reporters who'll go out of their way to protect their source (and their access and earnings).

surprised he has not already been terminated.....it would be nearly impossible to prove his or someone close to hims innocence....and the 76'ers cannot allow this to linger out there through the draft and FA.

they should bring back the man who started the rebuild to finish the process....and yes, I am a fan of Sam Hinkie.

well on the reverse, how can they prove 100% that he did it? Did they find logins of these accounts on his office computers and such?
