Anybody see the drama over till not making weight today?

Has to give up 30% or purse and any bonuses, but als can’t weight more than 188lbs by tomorrow at 1pm (UK time).

Never heard of the weight part as a stipulation, didn’t know it was possible

^^saw snippet in the news

Cool that they will still let him fight.. as long as the opponent is in agreement

**opponent deserves part of anything given up because he respected his opponent enough to come in at weight.

I think anything is possible as long as both sides agree to it and it's within regulations. I'm sure Thompson picked that weight purposely since it's what he normally comes in at.

That said....I believe fighters that have not made weight have gone 6 or 7 and 0 this year. That's nuts...such a huge advantage not to destroy your body like that.

Till is a natural middleweight and, eventual light heavyweight.

JB is absolutely correct though: anything is possible so long as the fighters agree. We saw that with Big Mac on the card in Brazil.

Yeah I agree. Till tends to walk around anywhere between 200-205, even as high as 210, so to cut that much is hard work, and eventually he will get to a point where he just can't do it anymore.

188 should be reasonable for him today, given that he only missed by 3.5 yesterday, he may have a bit of a rush to re-hydrate and re-nourish before fight time, but it is what it is, if you miss that's the consequence and he's lucky he still gets to fight.

It's not a great card at all today, but Till vs Thompson should be interesting. I'll go with Wonderboy for the win.

Just watched the fight (it was a super cropped version on YouTube lol)

Wonderboy is the counter-striking version of Maia lol. Dude has no weapons if it’s not countering off of someone being aggressive

I thought it was just a high-level striking match. Wonderboy kind of exposed Till as a one punch phenom. But he did make one mistake, opened the door for the flash knockdown and gave the judges all they needed to award Bisping, uh, Till, the decision.

For as low activity as the fight was, Thomspon landed the more clean and effective punches and kicks throughout the fight. But, as you mention, his style makes such chess matches swing no judge votes in his favor.

It was def high level striking, just neither fighter was willing to risk it and expose themselves to get countered. Much like Woodley vs Thompson 2.

I agree too that Thompson landed more clean strikes. He lost because of that knockdown in the 5th and it being in Liverpool. Technically he should have won. He’s gotta do something to separate himself from the pack now. I don’t see the UFC wanting him to main event unless the styles matchup perfectly

I had Wonderboy 3-2, but I think the home crowd swayed the judges to be honest.

Wonderboy to me is more of a pure martial artist than a true fighter. He doesn't throw shots with any malice behind them, he's trying to land a kick while someone else is trying to knock somebody's head off, it's more like in martial arts where you land a strike to score a point, it has the intensity of an exhibition rather than a fight.

His style is pretty to watch, he's very fluid and elusive, but won't ever win many casual fans, and probably doesn't impress the judges as we've seen in matches against Woodley and now Till where you'd think Wonderboy did enough but lost on the cards.

Spot on Mo. He’s a point fighter for sure.

That being said, homey has enough pop to keep folks from disrespecting him, otherwise Till walks him down. And Wonderboy is a bit of a riddle to solve and cat quick. If Till wasn’t so massive, one or two of those strikes probably dazes him.

I’m cool with the decision because Till is the English hype train beneficiary and Thompson has to know that would be the case if push came to shove. Still makes it hard for me to root for the Liverpudlian though. That’s just my natural response.

Will be interesting to see how he does moving forward with the weight cut and facing top flight wrestlers.

Yeah. That was the inevitable culmination of all his conversations the past couple of months. Getting beat by GSP and then murked by Gastelum...the writing was pretty much etched into the walls.

Anybody interested in a Rory Macdonald vs Gergard Moussasi fight? That's UFC main card worthy right there from Bellator

I'm definitely intrigued. Rory hasn't really been the same since that war with Lawler but watching Gegard doing some work is always worth a watch.

right as usual GtR! It was a big letdown when he left the UFC. Imagine how stacked the middleweight division would be!

Gegard vs Gastellum for #1 contender would be awesome right about now

The sound of that head kick. Shinbone to the dome is basically like getting hit by a bat.

I can't for the life of me understand why he did that. If you can't slam him forward, don't bother.

Marlon's KO was a nice shot, the sound of it was brutal though man.
