Kobe Bryant Says LeBron Has Talent Around Him:

"It seems like he has some good talent to me. He's got Kyle Korver who's a great shooter, J.R. Smith who has always been a solid player -- we focus on his one mistake and that tends to overshadow all the things he's done to help them win a championship before --you've got Kevin Love, who was an All-Star and an Olympian, you've got Tristan Thompson who is back to playing like he played a few years ago.

--Jordan Clarkson has a lot of talent and potential, I’ve played with him and know what he can do. Rodney Hood was a 17-point-per-game scorer in the West, so I’m supposed to believe he can’t play all of a sudden?

It’s just a matter of what the team chemistry is and the team dynamics are. --

He's got some workable pieces there.

I don't understand how, in order to talk about how great LeBron is we need to [expletive] on everybody else. That's not O.K. Those guys have talent. I don't buy this whole thing that he's playing with a bunch of garbage."

The question that Kobe answered this to, was a media member trying to compare LeBron's Cavs team to the Smush Parker/Kwame Brown Lakers and asking Kobe if LeBron is going through the same stuff Kobe went through from 05-07 and Kobe shut that down quick

How so?
These are guys that have produced before either on this team or another.
It's not like these guys are old or injured which caused their play to regress.

Yeah exactly. Bron stans (media included) love to (bleep) on his teammates in order to boost up his legacy.

Yeah, they just 'suddenly' can't play, under LeBron ball.

Rodney Hood got playtime last night though and looked how he looked in Utah.

Actually LeBron got help from everywhere last night.

Kevin Love 20/13
Rodney Hood 15/6
JR Smith 13/4
Tristan Thompson 8/7

Meanwhile on Golden State, before Steph's three, the 2nd leading scorer behind Durant was JaVale McGee. The Cavs nor LeBron have an excuse today, but watch ESPN try to give them several. He "had help" last night, and Curry and Klay were both ice cold.

Comparing LeBron's team to the Smush/Kwame squad is ridiculous. However, calling J.R. Smith a "solid player" is laughable. Swaggy P and J.R. Smith are equivalent players.

The only serviceable NBA players on Cleveland's roster other than Lebron are Kevin Love, George Hill, sometimes Thompson (when he's giving a full effort - but he's still somewhat of a liability) and sometimes Korver (when his shot is falling - he's still a huge defensive liability though). Basically everyone else on the team is a full-on scrub.

Lebron has never received any real criticism his entire career because of the media.

Love and Hill I think are the only above average players, but Love, as usual, is being badly exposed by the Warriors. It's just a bad matchup for him. Rest of the team is replacement level.

LeBron had help last night from the so called 'garbage" players

Kevin Love 20/13
Rodney Hood 15/6
JR Smith 13/4
Tristan Thompson 8/7

And it was in Cleveland, and the Cavs had the lead, AND the Cavs had the momentum, AND Steph and Klay were both ice cold from three.

So what's the excuse now?

Kevin Love is also putting up 21/12 for the Finals and the bad game he had from three (which skews the stats from three) was his 1-8 performance in Game 1, where he still put up 21/13. He's shot 37% and 43% from three on the next two games. Put up 20/13/3 last night on 46% from the field and 43 from three.

So this whole "Kevin Love isn't really ... " talk.... not the case. Kevin Love is playing like the all-star he is.

The moment the Lakers added a 18/10 guy to the squad that kept losing in the first round, the Lakers went to 3 straight Finals.

Kevin Love put up as a 3rd option what Pau Gasol put up as a 2nd option and the media tried to say LeBron still didn't "have enough help".

Kobe is precisely right when he talks about LeBron having the talent around him, but the media diminishes them to try to pump up LeBron's greatness.

We've seen it for a while and frankly I'm sick of ESPN's excuses and always trying to excuse LeBron coming up short in the Finals, when NO OTHER great player has EVER been protected as much, regardless of whats happened in the Finals for them.

How many games would the 08 Lakers have won without Kobe?

They really arent though. The previous 3 post seasons JR Smith was shooting lights out for the Cavs. Very clutch.

2014-2016 JR Smith playoff stats: 11/3/3 on 60% TS

Or maybe Kobe's actually played with, worked with, seen, experienced with Jordan Clarkson, almost like they were teammates once, and doesn't buy that JC just suddenly forgot how to play basketball when exposed to the Cleveland water supply.

Yep, as much as Kobe studies the game, he knows his stuff. Much greater source of basketball knowledge and understanding than anyone on ESPN is gonna give.

Probably not bottom 3 in the entire NBA which is what that Cavs team is without Lebron.

Kevin Love's last season in Minny he won 40 games in the West. In the East Cavs would still be in the playoff hunt (8-10 seed) without Lebron.
