Well, it's a truly historic moment. Hopefully it results in rapprochement, the end of the Korean war, and the opening of the North.

NK will promise to denuclearize and Drumpf and AssMoon will declare peace and the end of the Korean War. As soon as Kim gets his way (concessions & lesser sanctions) he'll do an about face and ramp up his Nuclear program by successfully stockpiling dozens of warheads with the new funds he receives, tearing up any treaty that comes about during this Singapore summit, and start his 'reunification' process by invading SK while AssMoon welcomes his new overlord with open arms.

US will attempt to retaliate, only to realize too late that we'll be in this on our own and China won't tolerate any military action on the peninsula and will make its own iron curtain by fortifying the Yellow Sea.

end of war ONLY with total denuke(which isn't going to happen)...anything less is a concession to North Korea
Rocket man wants the US off the peninsula...so does trump and only trump
I bet he sells out our allies and signs an eow agreement jmo

While the US was busy hacking NK internet pipeline to slow it down
Russia built and delivered them a new one...

Yay! Trump signed an agreement that’s less strong than what pRK agreed to with W’s administration. Now, instead of committing to abandon nuclear program (which of course they didn’t do), they commit to working toward a denuclearization of the peninsula. Which of course means zero. Trump got played hard, and dint even get a tiny concession.

If those 20 states turn into Venezuela then it's more than deserved. They put the whole country and the world at risk with their petty and ignorant votes. I hope they go down hard, all of them.

"Without Otto, this would not have happened," Trump said

Well, it was historic. Good for the Korean people (how good... TBD). We'll see

Holy cow. We got our butts whooped by North Korea of all people.

They now have reams and reams of film to show how the mighty US considers their leader as a partner, and no mention of the terrible atrocities. Just a whooping.

This might tilt the balance of power in Asia with China:

Trump announced he would end the regular military exercises the US conducts with South Korea.

Trump also said he hopes to eventually withdraw US forces from South Korea, but said "that's not part of the equation right now."
"I want to get our soldiers out. I want to bring our soldiers back home," Trump said. "But that's not part of the equation right now. I hope it will be eventually."

And history repeats itself...

Want to win a peace prize? Give concessions to North Korea.

I was referring to the North Korea meeting and the overall coverage I've seen.

It's nothing new. Trump has been using the media since his campaign days. He's been front page since he started his run for the office. He gets more free advertising than anyone I know.

I'm talking beyond the usual Trump do nothing/something horrible and proclaim it a fantastic, tremendous accomplishment, better than anyone thought possible blah blah blah.

But meeting with Kim Jong Un is new. I just found the entire spectacle to be an insult to anyone with a brain, and I don't understand why we would agree to all of this. Looking at the U.S. flag and the North Korean flag together. Watching a brutal dictator look like an equal to a U.S. president. Trump repeatedly saying it's an "honor" to meet a guy who kills his own family and government officials on a whim and makes his people live in poverty and starve. Kidnaps and tortures. Just a horrific person, and I don't think we're focusing enough on this.

But our President is happy and honored to meet him. 24 hours earlier, he's attacking the PM of Canada. So embarrassing. Of course, he could be attacking Kim on Twitter in 24 hours because he's a (bleep) and won't say it to his face.

Yeah, the coverage has been atrocious. It takes someone like Lawrence O'Donnell on MSNBC and a few others to point out how stupid this whole thing was and how awful some of Trump's comments were before, during, and after the meeting. As with everything else he has done, imagine if Obama had done some of those things. The Republicans would call for his lynching.

The agreement has no substance to it, the American president legitimized a brutal dictator, he then went on to defend him, he lied what the agreement says, and the media mostly ate it all up.

That's what Trump understood from the early days of the campaign. The media can't keep up with all his lies and will rather just broadcast the spectacle.

Trump may be smarter than we're giving him credit for being. He uses the media like a marketing tool.
