If PG stays in OKC then he must have ALOT of faith in GM Sam Presti. That roster, as of today, just screams treadmill.

However, this might just be OKC doing their due diligence on the PR front. IIRC Lakers also had a 'good feeling' about resigning Dwight; you don't just wave the white flag to your fanbase before you really have to.

IMO, once PG actually sits down with Rob and Magic, and has a chance to see their plan and vision for the franchise bulletpoint for bulletpoint, then it'll be really tough for him to turn down LA. This is why there were talks of OKC wanting PG to resign ASAP out of fear of just that.

Bottom line, as long as Pg is a FA come July 1st, and has a proper sit down with the Lakers, then I like our chances.

I don't see Paul leaving Houston. They are one game away from beating the Warriors and the only player they lacked in those games are Paul himself. They also can offer him the most money. For Paul to leave Houston, he has to see us having a better chance of beating the Warriors than Houston, and the only likely scenario is we have 3 all-star in our team.

If somehow we can sign two of LBJ, Paul and PG13 and trade for the remaining one then we are definitely better than Houston. However, that requires massive pay cut from all three of them. For example, both LBJ and Paul sign for 25,000,000 each and then PG13 options in so we trade Lonzo + Deng + two 1st round picks for him. This makes it very unlikely to happen unless they are all determined to get that championship from Warriors' hand.

So my bet is Paul stays in Houston.

If he comes here with LBJ, he has no pressure either.

That's our trump card. Magic needs to get Bron and Paul in the same room.

The issue would then be how will he sell it to them both? Their supporting cast is talented, but 3 guys are rookies, and the other 2 have less than 5 years in the NBA.

How you sell it to them, the new look Lakers best two players will be LBJ and PG13, after that we got BI, Ball, Kuz, Hart, #25 and Lopez or we can even trade guys to get a third star here or re-sign Randle/KCP. This is LA and every ring chaser in the league will follow them here.

This will be the best team either one of them have ever played on and they will both get Max contracts to play In Los Angeles, I bet PG's fam would be happy to watch him play here and LBJ what family would be mad about a move from Ohio to California

that would mean PG13 doesn’t have championship mettle under the bright lights; therefore we wouldn’t want him.

He is going to opt out after 2 years whether he stays in OKC or comes the the Lakers so he can get the 35% max.

The only difference in his salary is in year 2 because OKC can his salary by 8% and the Lakers by 5%.

not sure that is accurate....seen others speculate, but some guys just lock in for the years....if he is one of those guys, the 5th year becomes a selling point.

I dont think CP3 leaves Houston, especially since he was 2 games out of possibly going to the finals if he was healthy.

In his mind he probably feels like they would advance with him playing, so just that bitter taste I think is enough for him to re-up and go at GSW again with Harden and co.

Ramona’s sources said it was a Philly cheesesteak. Then an hour later her other set of sources said he threw up afterwards.

Meanwhile, Broussard is reporting it was Chef Boyardee.

George has a rare chance to choose his landing spot.

I find it hard to believe he would choose OKC over LA, but should he decide to do so? I will hold no ill will as it is all about what he wants to do.

Maglinka are snagging a big fish this summer for sure, it is happening.

I feel if PG backed out of coming to the Lakers after a year and a half of flirting back and forth........... it would be hard for him to show his face around LA anymore. I mean, he wouldn't even be able to go get a hamburger, without fans getting all over him!

Same rumors, different year.

Sources: Thunder in strong position with Kevin Durant after meeting

ESPN Senior Writer
A successful meeting with Kevin Durant and his closest confidantes Thursday has put the incumbent Oklahoma City Thunder in a strong position as Durant moves into meetings with five other free-agent suitors, according to league sources.

Sources told ESPN that Thursday's five-hour meeting with Thunder officials at Chesapeake Energy Arena "went well" before Durant, his agent and business manager Rich Kleiman and longtime friend and manager Charlie Bell boarded a flight to New York to start huddling with other teams on Friday.

Multiple sources, including friends and business associates of Durant's, previously told The Undefeated's Marc Spears that, barring an unbelievable pitch from one of the teams trying to woo Durant, those close to him expect Durant to return to the Thunder next season.

"His decision is 90 percent made," a longtime friend told Spears.

Gadget's responses are the best things about these rumors.

Small-time reporter/Youtube comment/Reddit post linking Lebron or George to the Lakers: Signs are pointing to a huge summer for the Lakers!

Big-time reporters putting out info that Lebron and George may not be headed to the Lakers: Guys, let's all be careful and take these reports with a grain of salt. A lot of speculating going on...

So Ramona was actually on point then!

In other words, Ramona has been hearing OKC for now, but still thinks PG signs with the Lakers.
