There is a concern with our bullpen. It's been overworked the last few weeks. We have four starting pitchers out. Kershaw, Hill, Maeda and Ryu.

Dodgers need to make strong offers to the Mets for either DeGrom or Syndegaard. Inevitably, those two will be traded to some team for a combination of prospects/talent that will make Dodger fans pull their hair out --- something like a 10th best player, two dead bullpen arms, some cash, and a pick. And, all the while, reports will mention that the Mets "only" wanted Seager, Bellinger, Puig, Buehler, and our 5 best prospects. But we need to know that's all BS and the Dodgers can make these trades -- if they have the (bleep) sack.

Jacob deGrom, please.

I'd taker either one, hell both of them if the price is right.

I def want both. If I had to choose, probably DeGrom . . . but Noah is younger and, in my opinion, has the far higher ceiling. Good thing about both is they are proven playoff performers.

Yeah, my thinking there is that Noah would cost a lot more to acquire, due to the age difference.

Realistically, what do we think they'd cost to acquire?

CS: Yeah, I agree, Noah would cost more. And I second Moses' question: how much do you think it would cost? If the team is serious about acquiring Machado, and worried about Seager's ability to translate to a different position (or the long-term stress 3B may play on his arm) . . . do they go bold and offer him along with some prospects for both? Maybe JT (especially if he gets his stroke back)? I doubt they'd want someone JT's age.

Just to add to this, Syndergaard is currently injured with a bad finger, and who knows if he will even be effective again this year. But as for deGrom, he'll probably cost two top prospects, plus possible ancillary pieces. He has 2 and a half years before he hits free agency and he has a 1.55 ERA right now. He's not going to be cheap. I wouldn't expect Machado to cost two top prospects, not as a rental, but he'll probably cost one top prospect. Due to being able to have deGrom through 2020, I'd prioritize him if I was giving up legit prospect capital.

Lol, baseball is just so stupid (and by stupid I mean awesome).

It seemed like the baseball gods were doing anything they could for Barnes to be the hero last night and he just couldn't come through.

Took a bad throw (and a great dodge by Kike) on what should have easily been a 1-2-3 inning-ending double play for him to be the hero.

Glad we got the W. Keep the train rolling with the hated ones coming to town this weekend.

I thought the replay clearly showed him tagging out Beltre, but whatever -- glad we still got the W!

Oh did tag out Beltre. Not sure what NY was looking at.

I was referring to his bases loaded 'walk-off' in the 11th

That was an amazingly bad throw from the Texas pitcher... I mean these guys can throw the ball into a space the size if a paper back book but can't lob the ball close enough to the plate that the catcher can catch it and still touch the plate with his foot. He missed his target by at least 5 feet!

Who would have guessed Chicken Strip would grow to be our ace this year?

Last 8 starts - 47 IP , 8 ER , 58 K , 4 BB

I've always felt Stripling was better suited as a starter than a reliever. I didn't think he'd be a number 1 but more like a 3 at best, 4 or 5 most likely. Good for him to get his run. Dodgers have him for a few more years before he's unrestricted. He's in his prime years right now. Could see him as a potential trade candidate in the offseason for the right offer.

Stripling has now reached regular season Kershaw status where I'm basically expecting a win every time he takes the mound.

20-6 since May 16th. Is Max Muncy this year's annual kick in the ass to the team?

And the Orioles are 19-50, and interviewing Ned Colletti for an executive position. We REALLY need this to happen. Then Ned will know our players, know our system, and he might be a little more likely to trade Machado to us. You know, kind of like how Jeter traded Stanton to the Yankees.

That'd be so sick. A Mchale/Ainge in our direction.

I think it would increase our chances. I'm already thinking of a lineup vs. righties with an infield of Turner/Machado/Taylor/Muncy, with an outfield of Kemp/Bellinger/Puig, and a lineup vs. lefties of Turner/Machado/Forsythe or Barnes/Bellinger in the infield and Kemp/Taylor/Puig in the outfield.

Last night, I went to my first Doyer game since opening day.

What a difference in energy. And I’m even talking pre-game.

A bit of that “different guy on a different day” dust they experienced last year is starting to glow upon this team and the fans are feeling it and responding in kind. Matt Kemp? I never would have thought this was possible.

The fact that they’re just 1.5 back of the Bags is one thing already but that they’ve gotten here with all those injuries is something pretty noteworthy, of not special, on its own.

An opportunistic trade and some healing and this may get real.

Don't forget this dude wore his Giants WS ring to his introduction press conference with the Dodgers. He could just as easily trade Machado to them!

Dbags got a series against the Angels. Let's hope Trout and company put it on them. Kill 2 birds with one stone rooting for the "other" LA team.

Chatwood was getting major help from the home plate ump. Dude was all over the place.

IF you're going to give a generous zone, at least be consistent with both teams.

Austin Barnes should never be allowed to hit with the bases loaded and less than two outs.

Bases loaded, nobody out. Such an important spot with the pitcher on deck and he can't even put the ball in play that likely would've resulted in a run.

So extremely bad.
