Ball, who sat out the last eight games of the season with a knee contusion, called it a minor injury that didn’t require surgery.
The Lakers want Ball to increase his strength this summer and become less susceptible to injuries. “Just been in the weight room, trying to put on that weight,” he said.
“And on the court, a lot of ballhandling, a lot of shooting. I am trying to critique everything and fine tune and get ready for next year.” |

So this is at least his second PRP shot for that knee, no? That doesn't really instill a lot of confidence in his long term health.... |
Happen to know when his first shot was? |

Yep.
Biggest concerns should be:
1. Health
2. Lavar
His game isn't a concern to me as I feel he'll improve. |

It's scary that Lonzo is so young to be getting PRP shots already just in his rookie season. PRP shots vary from player to player...
- Best case scenario, Steph Curry, he eventually needed surgery and is kind of still injury prone.
- Worst case scenario, Brandon Roy... gulp! _________________

A lot of players get these for maintenance. Westbrook had one last training camp. It makes sense to promote healing to the MCL he tore. _________________ Previously LBJ23 |

They do. Steph had another one I think before the playoffs. But these guys like Steph and Westbrook are already in their 30's in their 9th or so seasons and have had a lot of mileage.
Concern is that Lonzo's been having to do this at age 20, only his first year. _________________

MCLs can tear at any age and prp injections are good maintenance for that along with other things. Roy had a degenerative joint disease, so I don't know how you draw comparison to that. _________________ Previously LBJ23 |

He had injuries during summer league and preseason and missed 30+ games during regular season. Now PRP injections. The red flags are there. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

True but they didn't find out until after a year after that was the cause of Roy's knee injury. Just hope nothing like that happens to Lonzo. _________________

Yeah, these aren't really "red flag" injuries. They are, however, indicative that his dad's prescribed training regimen is not enough to prepare him to stay healthy in the NBA. |

1) Knee issues aren't created equal. Sprained MCL / Knee Contusions aren't the same as knee tendonitis.
2) Ingram never had "knee issues" he only missed 3 games with knee tendonitis his 1st season (needed rest and not PRP), but Ingram didn't have a knee injury in his 2nd season (injuries were ankle, quads, groin, and head contusions). _________________

You said minor but then said Ingram had "knee issues" when he didn't.
You say MCL maybe minor but apparently the pain is still bugging Lonzo for him to need PRP to step on the court. _________________

The bulk of Ingram's missed games were due to a groin strain, which was a contact injury that he had with Winslow. If it were a non-contact injury it would be a little more concerning. But Winslow is built like an ox and came down on BI with his full bodyweight. |

He got PRP like a month ago. Injuries are part of the game. He didn't need surgery and PRP is fairly common. We wouldn't even know about thos if Lonzo didn't say anything. Pretty sure there are a bunch of players that get PRP that isn't reported. You can play fake doctor and be alarmed. I'm ok with it, players get hurt and recover all the time. _________________ Previously LBJ23 |

Yeah, I don't think any team would want Lonzo's knee and his dad as part of any trade package right now. _________________ |

Not when they're this young. But don't you know? I'm the 2nd best fake doctor in all of LG, including you and everyone in this thread. Only Dr. Laker ranks ahead. _________________
