Jerry was much more athletic than history, or fans like to give him credit for it seems

Also if you're wondering who the first guy is, that's Travis Grant. The first "Machine" in the Lakers uniform long before Sasha, beast of a scorer, particularly in college where he outscored Pistol Pete. But you never hear about him, unfortunately. One of the best scorers you've probably never heard of

Was that Riley who couldn't even touch the rim?

Lol I love how the tweet says Logo was listed at 6'2" but is 6'4" by modern NBA measurements.

this. and magic Johnson was so thick headed, SELFISH and stubborn that he actually said NO to Jerry west for coming back to the lakers as an advisor and jerry ends up with the clippers..

I will never forgive magic for that one.

In some ways I forgive magic for not wanting West. If things go well, Jerry gets the credit. If things go badly, Jerry walks off grumbling and it’s magics fault.

You can only have so many egos in the room. It's why Jerry and Phil clashed. And it's probably why Magic isn't really lobbying to get Kobe involved either. These are all hyper competitive guys, they all were the MAN and want to still be the MAN, and even in their old age I'm guessing they can't put that aside and work as a team for the betterment of the team. Especially when it's all about legacy at the GM position for them now.

It's fine though if Magic gets the job done.

yes its fine if he gets it done... but if magic doesn't get it done and the clippers do I and most likely many laker fans will be beyond upset with Magic Johnson.

Perhaps. But I think one of the reasons it became a big thing was because whenever Magic criticized Jim, he talked about needing basketball minds like Jerry West around, lobbying for that, and comparing it to how Jerry Buss surrounded himself with those kinds of basketball minds.

He cited Jerry a bunch when it came to that.

But then put in the same position, with an actual shot at getting Jerry who just wanted to finish his career or whatever time he had left professionally, next to his son, and promised to not overstep. And got told no.

I think that Jeanie was more to do with that decision than Magic though.

But to the subject of the video, needless to say I was surprised

That's not true. Hearn reminded all of us whenever he kept mispronouncing Travis Knight's name.

lol at the tweet saying Wilt had a 48 inch vertical, bruh that would put his head a good 13 plus inches over the rim... I get so tired of seeing fake numbers like that.
