Seems a lot but they need to do that to be competitive with Boston and Philly's offers. If Im Cleveland I only do this if I get a commitment from him and Lebron. Problem is Kawhi will likely ditch Cleveland for LA in 2019

love and the 8 is a terrible deal for san antonio, love isn't very good and the 8th pick is meh

What’ll the Cavs roster look like? Contenders? Or just 2 Dope Guys and a Team of Dopes?

fair enough, but I'd rather just have someone like Andre Ingram for that purpose

Ingram’s on my roster as well, except I wouldn’t want to trade him. Ennis is salary that I would trade.

Kobe on which team is LeBron’s best fit

Quote:
Based on your film study of LeBron’s game and what he excels at, as we look forward to his 16th season, and without getting into the realities of contracts or anything like that, do you think there’s a team that’s an ideal fit for him basketball-wise?

Kobe: “Yeah, Cleveland. LeBron could go anywhere and play. If he wants to stay, that’s a great fit for him. Players can adapt. There was a lot of talk about if Durant going to Golden State was a good fit and now that seems silly to say that. Chris Paul going to Houston was ‘is it a great fit?’ and now it seems silly to say that. He’ll make a home wherever he decides to end up.”

This is pretty old. I'm sure it's been discussed already.

I never saw it and I've been reading everything posted here lately like it's my job!!

I am really tired of Kobe trying to dissuade LAbron from coming to the Lakers.

First I've seen it as well.

Fine. Get Paul George, give up NOTHING, and sign Kawhi outright next year.

Good thing about this Kawhi news leaking is that if we had a slot open in 2019, we are almost guaranteed to get him. I was starting to believe that there was no viable options in 2019 with Klay and Kawhi potentially extending.

if that is true, Lebron is likely recruiting both guys trying to find a path for one of them to get moved to Cleveland.

I would give the Cavs GM props if he could do that...

$24,119,025... Kevin Love (PO 2020)
$19,000,000... George Hill (non Guarantee 2020)
$17,469,565... Tristan Thompson
$14,720,000... JR Smith (non Guarantee 2020)
$12,500,000... JC
$07,560,000... Kyle Korver (non Guarantee 2020)

$35,607,968... Lebron (opt in)
$30,300,000... PG
$20,099,189... Kawhi
These 3 are ~$86M

You misread what they were saying. They said they would recruit both to get one of them to come.....not both PG and Kawhi.

Plus, if they got Kawhi they would trade salary/players to trade for him now.

Here is my message to LeBron:

Would you like to win at least 4 more championships before you retire? That would put you ahead of Shaq, Kobe, Duncan, Magic, Kareem, and MJ. It would cement your legacy as the greatest of all time.

Here is how you can do it. We can have a lineup, starting in 2019, of

Ball-Ingram
George-Hart
Kawhi-Kuzma
LeBron-Randle
Lopez-M. Robinson

That lineup would be one of the strongest and deepest in NBA history. The only two players over 28 would be you and Lopez. The lineup could thus stay together the rest of your career with the Lakers, as PG and Kawhi play through their primes, and Bill, Ingram, Hart, Kuzma, and Randle play into their primes. You would have a great chance of winning 4+ championships before you retire.

There is one way to make it happen: Agree to a salary of $25 million, and convince, PG and Kawhi (starting in 2019) to do the same. The money that each of you will be giving up will be a drop in the bucket in relationship to the fortune and fame that you will achieve by being the NBA's greatest dynasty since the Bill Russell era.

Of course we may be able to acquire Kawhi earlier--and we will do our best to do so. However, there is no better way to pressure San Antonio to trade Kawhi to us this year than by convincing them and the league that, if they don't, we will sign him outright next year. The 25/25/25 plan can allow that to happen.

So, its your call. If you want the max, you have earned it, and we will pay it to you. But if you want the best possible path to 4 more championships and GOAT status, help us sign you, PG, and Kawhi, while retaining all our promising youth!

Great idea, but you’ll have to show or at least explain a little more math.

How much is Randle making in this 25/25/25 Plan?

Where'd Deng go? Looks like we still have our #25 pick to draft M. Robinson.

If LeBron wins 4 more titles, that means GS doesn't win another title? Also, Kawhi doesn't come until 2019. Did we win a title in 2018-2019 before Kawhi comes?

How much do we pay Kuzma, Ingram, Hart and Ball once their contracts are up?

And look at the 2 tweets preceding that:

Quote:
@WeAreCavsNation

Windhorst: "I don't think LeBron's situation has changed at all. By Friday morning, will the Cavs be closer to be competing for a championship? That's going to be their last opportunity to send a message to LeBron."

Quote:
@WeAreCavsNation

Windhorst: "I think more than likely the Cavs are gonna keep the pick (as opposed to trading it)."

So per Windhorst, Cavs message to LeBron is we're keeping the pick rather than trade it for immediate help, but we'll still try to play for championships so please stay.

Windhorst doing a lot of "I think" but Cavs can't have their cake and eat it too by keeping their pick and still hoping to put a championship team together and keep LeBron.

Windbag won't be breaking any news. He offers zero insight. What he's good for is explaining a situation revolving around Lebron after moves have been made.

Nah. CP3 going to the Lakers was sparked by Stein, who merely mentioned it as something that he could see happening because LeBron and CP3 are great friends. He never said it was something he was hearing about. Problem is, the line between speculation/prediction and reporting has been blurred so much that people no longer understand the difference. Every time some scenario is mentioned people assume that it's in play.

Other reporters are starting to use someone's "opinion" and running with it as a source. Simmons and Lowe were talking about it on their podcasts. It's gotten really out of hand.

Meh. Damage control. Make the Cavs look like the "bad guys" or inept by floating this out there. Lebron can say "Hey, I tried, I gave them a chance, they forced me to come to [insert new city here]". Lebron knows he's got Windbag in his back pocket to send out smokescreens, even when Windy doesn't know it.

Windbag's just waiting for him to win a chip elsewhere so he can write another book and add another room to his house.

Of course Lebron’s preference is Cleveland. He already plays with an all star, a team built specifically around his skill set, and a cake walk to the finals thru the inept East.

Windhorst is a Cleveland fan first. He is being biased and I would not trust him. Leading up to the decision in 2010 all of the signs pointed to Lebron leaving, yet Windy kept saying "no way he leaves". Then when Lebron left Windy was shocked. His fan hood is blinding him.
