Good thing about this Kawhi news leaking is that if we had a slot open in 2019, we are almost guaranteed to get him. I was starting to believe that there was no viable options in 2019 with Klay and Kawhi potentially extending.

You misread what they were saying. They said they would recruit both to get one of them to come.....not both PG and Kawhi.
Plus, if they got Kawhi they would trade salary/players to trade for him now.

That lineup would be one of the strongest and deepest in NBA history. The only two players over 28 would be you and Lopez. The lineup could thus stay together the rest of your career with the Lakers, as PG and Kawhi play through their primes, and Bill, Ingram, Hart, Kuzma, and Randle play into their primes. You would have a great chance of winning 4+ championships before you retire.
There is one way to make it happen: Agree to a salary of $25 million, and convince, PG and Kawhi (starting in 2019) to do the same. The money that each of you will be giving up will be a drop in the bucket in relationship to the fortune and fame that you will achieve by being the NBA's greatest dynasty since the Bill Russell era.

Windhorst is a Cleveland fan first. He is being biased and I would not trust him. Leading up to the decision in 2010 all of the signs pointed to Lebron leaving, yet Windy kept saying "no way he leaves". Then when Lebron left Windy was shocked. His fan hood is blinding him.
