That would be pure Karma.

Regarding Howard, from NBA´s best center to be traded to one of the worst teams on a salary dumping trade.

He´s the only one to blame.

Best scenario: Deng for Walker and the 11th pick in the draft.

Mitch explaining his reasoning: "A few years ago, my front office had set out to obtain LeBron James. With this trade, I believe that goal can finally be accomplished. Here in Charlotte, we're getting the band back together. Mozgov and Deng will hopefully net us Ingram-like and Ball-like type players for the organization."

Crazy talk.

Realistically, Mitch and MJ would probably OK

Deng and the FRP for Batum

Maybe I blamed Jim a little too much.
Maybe it was Mitch all along.

I don’t think he has another $23 mil contract to swap for Deng

Reminds me of SAS' rant about how the Nets were "coming to take over" with Dwight.

Also gotta love the forshadowing of the Lakers trading with the Nets at 0:52.

I don't understand this trade even from a money saving perspective> How is Mozgov's 2 years better than Dwight's contract?

Is mitch trying to get himself fired?

Maybe this is why dwight was apologetic about what he did to the Lakers recently?

Two of Mitch's big mistakes traded for each other.

Essentailly, he trades Dwight's 24 mil for Mozgov's 16 mil this year, so between that and the cash and tax implications, he comes out about 15 mil or so ahead this year, gets rid of a guy they want nowhere near their team anymore (note to Brooklyn, do not leave him alone in a room with DLo), gets a guy who will be a good teammate and not hurt a tank, gets a couple picks, and only has to take on an additional year at 16.7 mil. Which, BTW, he might be able to flip next year for a similar deal, since they look to be rebuilding. Take the names Mitch and Mozgov out of it and it's a solid if unspectacular deal.

Hmmm, seems bizarre to me. Howard, while we all pretty much hate him, averaged 16.5 ppg and 12.5 rpg last year, while shooting over 55%. I know that his game is limited in the new NBA but he is not a horrible player and Mozgov totally sucks. Even with my dislike of Dwight, I would not have done that trade.

Interesting! The trade makes so much more sense now. Thanks for explaining.

my guess is he knows his team is no where near ready to compete and no stars will be lining up to sign with them. So taking on extra salary for 2 years does not hurt anything. And in return they get two 2nd round picks which can net two decent projects talents to develop.

Word is he’s burned every bridge with the team.

Hmmm, that wouldn't surprise me, but even then, can't they just keep quite about it and get more for the trade value?

Great analysis. It was a good trade for Charlotte.
Reports that came out yesterday basically said that all Hornets' players HATED Dwight Howard.

That's usually the case.
