Best scenario: Deng for Walker and the 11th pick in the draft.
Mitch explaining his reasoning: "A few years ago, my front office had set out to obtain LeBron James. With this trade, I believe that goal can finally be accomplished. Here in Charlotte, we're getting the band back together. Mozgov and Deng will hopefully net us Ingram-like and Ball-like type players for the organization."
Maybe this is why dwight was apologetic about what he did to the Lakers recently? _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Essentailly, he trades Dwight's 24 mil for Mozgov's 16 mil this year, so between that and the cash and tax implications, he comes out about 15 mil or so ahead this year, gets rid of a guy they want nowhere near their team anymore (note to Brooklyn, do not leave him alone in a room with DLo), gets a guy who will be a good teammate and not hurt a tank, gets a couple picks, and only has to take on an additional year at 16.7 mil. Which, BTW, he might be able to flip next year for a similar deal, since they look to be rebuilding. Take the names Mitch and Mozgov out of it and it's a solid if unspectacular deal. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Hmmm, seems bizarre to me. Howard, while we all pretty much hate him, averaged 16.5 ppg and 12.5 rpg last year, while shooting over 55%. I know that his game is limited in the new NBA but he is not a horrible player and Mozgov totally sucks. Even with my dislike of Dwight, I would not have done that trade. _________________ Never argue with stupid people! They will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience!! - Twain

Interesting! The trade makes so much more sense now. Thanks for explaining.

my guess is he knows his team is no where near ready to compete and no stars will be lining up to sign with them. So taking on extra salary for 2 years does not hurt anything. And in return they get two 2nd round picks which can net two decent projects talents to develop. _________________ (bleep) Kawhi

Word is he’s burned every bridge with the team. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel

Hmmm, that wouldn't surprise me, but even then, can't they just keep quite about it and get more for the trade value? _________________ Never argue with stupid people! They will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience!! - Twain

Pretty sure this many teams in everyone knows what Dwight is about _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel

Great analysis. It was a good trade for Charlotte.
Reports that came out yesterday basically said that all Hornets' players HATED Dwight Howard.

That's usually the case. _________________ Music is my medicine
