Why? Phil drafted Porzingis. |
Ah no, Phil was gift wrapped Porzingis. If either of Russell or Okafor would have been available, he would have took either one of them. He got lucky by getting Porzingis by default. |
I don't think Phil is a bad talent evaluator. The problem he had was that he wanted role players who would fit into the triangle offense instead of athletic players with raw skills that could be developed into multi-faceted players. |
Phil's dream offense is 5 Luke Walton's. |

PJ would love to coach our squad. 5 guys who can handle. A pg who makes guys better and plays D. he would probably move JR but otherwise . |

I dunno about that.
I just don’t think he was ever particularly fond of dealing with rookie development. |

And Frank has the potential to be one of the best defenders in the league
FWIW I read that he had the best defensive numbers for screen and roll defense in the league or something like that ... not bad for second youngest player in league last year. |

Ok. I mean, he was still good enough to piece together multiple dynasties. He got the most out his talent. Probably the draft is a different beast but he certainly knew how to evlauate talent and put them in the best position to succeed. |

You don't know this. We DO know that even at #4, Phil was heavily criticized for the pick. Anything else is revisionism. |

He had to because he didn't have a chance to pick who he wanted in Dlo or oak. _________________ Previously LBJ23 |
