KOC once again gushing over Brandon Ingram on the latest Bill Simmons Podcast. His love for Ingram is kinda much, but it's how many of us feel about him on LG also. He even told Bill Simmons he would take Ingram over Jaylen Brown. Something we all already know.
Time stamp?
I wouldn't call it gushing. Saying he's better than Jaylen Brown isn't my idea of gushing. Its somewhere in the first 20 minutes. I think around the 10 minute mark.
I hear you LS. It's just KOC has had a history of being very high on Ingram. So I took that into account too.
Sorry, wasn't criticizing you if it felt that way. Just annoyed with the national media and want our players to prove them wrong already.

^Ball especially. The consensus is that he's such a disappointment. Its crazy that they don't know what they just saw. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service
Every time someone goes "OMG WHY IS HE STILL NOT WORKING WITH KOBE" they should be redirected to this video.
Ingram should still work with Kobe.
Also, when Kobe teaches, he teaches fundamentals, constant and specific repetitions and footwork. He doesn't teach you to "be Kobe" he teaches you to work on the stuff he worked on all the time.
There was a story not too long ago about someone whom was coming in to see one of Kobe's sessions and he wanted to know essentially the 'secrets' to what Kobe did, and he sat there for hours and watched Kobe get to the same spot and do a move, he saw a lot of repetition and he saw a lot of fundementals and he saw Kobe go at it hard.
But he asked Kobe after, because he referenced why Kobe was working on all that tedious fundamental so much, and Kobe replied to him that is the secret to his game and why he does what he does.
So if your argument is "Ingram doesn't need to work with Kobe cause Kobe would just try to turn him into himself and that's not who he is." Stop it.
Ingram would tremendously benefit from working with Kobe and trying to act like it somehow wouldn't be beneficial to his all around game, therefore it's okay if he doesn't, is not the argument to make.
Kobe worked with Gordon Hayward just fine, and their styles couldn't be further apart. Look that up if you ever get the chance. Kobe doesn't teach you to try to be "Kobe" just like Hakeem didn't try to teach Kobe to be "Hakeem". But instead gave him the tools and knowledge and repetitions to add to his game and work on his post moves and improve his footwork altogether.
The argument "Ingram doesn't need to learn anything from Kobe cause he's not Kobe and Kobe can only teach him to be Kobe" is a terrible one. And an insult to Kobe's basketball knowledge. Don't diminish what Kobe has to offer and teach, to try to make it more okay if Ingram doesn't work with him.
I never said any of that. The point is that just because Kobe is one of the greatest to ever play, doesn't mean he's the best option as a teacher, and as a result, BI isn't being a slacker for choosing to train with professional trainers who specialize in training other players.
You are both right. Nobody is hating on Ingram since we know he's a workhorse and wants to be great, but working with Kobe would accelerate his progress. To be fair, Kobe said recently in a podcast that he has several workouts lined up with NBA guys, so maybe Brandon is one of them.
Hopefully.
That also blows the "Kobe is too busy with his retirement to workout/workout with youngsters" argument that floated around for a moment, out of the water

Kobe's working out with other NBA players before Lakers?
Kobe's said many a time he'll work with anyone who's willing. Offered to fly Wiggins and LaVine down to Los Angeles and workout with them too over the summer during the last year Sam Mitchell coached. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

BI should be working on his three pointer all summer long!! The other thing he should be doing is trying to add some weight/strenghth.... Then lastly he needs to become passionate about defense.... If he can do those things, playing along side of LBJ and PG13 he could literally be that 3rd allstar for this team... I expect him to make a huge jump next year in the way the league views him. Man if he can stick that three sky is the limit for this kid
People around the league are sleeping on this kid. If the Lakers manage to land LBJ and PG13, BI might very well be the second best player on this team next year. Feeling a breakout year coming for him. _________________ He's my GOAT

Ingram was the second player selected in the 2017 NBA Draft. He measured 6’9” with a 7’3” wingspan and 9’1 ½” standing reach, won’t turn 21 until September, and is just scratching the surface of his potential.
Ingram has the size and athleticism to play either forward position. He is an excellent three-point shooter. Ingram is also working on becoming a better facilitator.
In 59 games last season, Ingram averaged 16.1 points and 5.3 rebounds, while shooting 39 percent from three-point range. Unfortunately, Ingram missed the end of the season after being placed in the league’s concussion protocol.
Ingram has all the tools to become an elite player in the NBA. He is a hard worker and has already started training for next season. He was working with trainer Micah Lancaster, CEO of I’m Possible Training. Lancaster spent last summer training Victor Oladipo and prepared him for a breakout, All-Star season. Lancaster posted a video of his workouts with Ingram, which included an emphasis on ball handling and footwork.
Following his training session with Lancaster, Ingram went to Atlanta, where he continued to put in work at The Skill Factory.
Ingram spent some time last year as a point forward, after Lonzo Ball went down with an injury. Coach Luke Walton trusted Ingram and put the ball in his hands. In 10 games in February, Ingram averaged 18.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.6 assists while shooting 52.2 from long-range.
Raptors blog site raving about Ingram, random but kinda cool to see how they view him _________________ “Life is too short. You have to keep it moving.” - Kobe
Third year is typically the year where these younger guys tend to start breaking out and come into their own. I think BI is on that trajectory and solidifies himself among the leagues upper echelon of up and coming talent alongside Simmons/Embiid/Tatum/Giannis _________________ He's my GOAT
Yep... I think he figured a few things out last year on what he can do in this league... His jumper looks better... He is going to be something to watch this year! When that three pointer starts dropping and he can get to that pull up free throw line jumper on a frequent basis and hit it...its good nite now to the league!
I was shocked at how well he played the point. This kid is going to be special. I hope he dominates this season so he destroys any chance of us ever moving him.
Mr. "untouchable", let's keep it that way, Magic. Even if the Spurs came knocking with KL for Ingram, I wouldn't consider it. _________________ LeGoat! LeMazing! LeGend!

No way LS. I didn't feel you were critizing at all. You're by far the most level headed person on LG. I guess that's not hard with the cast of over-reacting LG members we have, myself included. lol
